Beware of a lurking buzz-saw. There's really no better title for this edition of the Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show.
Whether it be team buzz-saw machines that can't be stopped or individual buzz-saws that once let loose can be a destructive force, there are many buzz-saws taking over the sports world these days.
Mike "the BUZZ-SAW" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo cover all the asininity. Another NBA season is here. Can anybody dethrone the Heat? Is Chicago really the best East team to beat Miami, or is maybe the squad they've had the most trouble with, Indiana, the true top contender? Are teams like the new look Nets or the Knicks true threats?
Out West, is it time for a team like Memphis or the Warriors to go from sexy pick to finally getting over the hump? Are the Clippers for real or are they overrated? And of course, never count out the Spurs. How much drama will arise in Laker Land this season and how good are the Rockets? On paper it seems Houston is built for success, but will they do it their first year together?
Respects are paid to one of sports revolutionary all-time buzz-saws, Allen Iverson. No, we're not talkin' 'bout practice! We're talking about a legend officially retiring.
The World Series closes its books with another Red Sox championship. Which team is built to return to the Fall Classic. And the guys go over all that has been the most asinine World Series ever.
In typical heel fashion, Mike defends a fellow buzz-saw. Is Dez Bryant receiving unjust criticism for his antics during Dallas' loss to Detroit. Why is there a double standard between receivers and quarterbacks, when yelling at teammates?
Beware a lurking buzz-saw, and beware the Howitzer and the Buzz-saw, as they conquer sports radio, one day, at a time....
Tonights broadcast of the show is basically dealing with people wanna keep coming in & out of your life, but far and in between. It's a "I Thought I Saw A Ghost" Friday.
Young Haak hosts the show, talks his talk, plays the bangaz, and takes your calls and commentaries.
12 Years Ago, Nadia Khalil Bradley saw Christ and he has been talking ever since.
Today: I saw Christ and what does that mean for you?
How does it feel to have seen Christ? How has life changed?
What religion does it make me? Who is God according to Christ?
Who is Christ according to Christ?
Nadia is author of Little Wing and Origins of Truth in which she talks about conversations with Christ. Nadia teaches classes and and regularly speaks to groups about her experiences. Visit Nadiakhalilbradley.com
About Christ: Christ is an Angel of Love. His purpose is to show us love in its infinite forms. He has the ability to come to us and influence us when love is in danger. He comes back to Earth to help us remember our essence and our soul’s purpose.Christ is very funny, warm and loving. He's gentle, patient and allows everyone the room to grow at their own pace.
“While I was present on Earth… I spoke, travelled... and I loved.” -Christ OoT p.374
Being hated isn't always a bad thing. Invoking emotion is better than none at all. Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo live by this philosophy.
Tony Stewart might very well be the most hated man in America these days. Why? Well his car hit and killed up and coming driver Kevin Ward Jr. Mike gives perhaps the most unpopular opinion imaginable: Ward can blame Ward for his own death. Should any criminal charges be pursued? If not criminal, does Stewart lose a civil suit? What does this horrible incident mean for Tony Stewart's racing career, both on and off the track?
When you're already cursed, it's best to minimize the controversy and asininity. The Cleveland Browns can't ever seem to accomplish this. Johnny Manziel or Brian Hoyer? Who will be the Browns starting quarterback? Which scenario will lead to less drama?
They may not have an East coast bias, but arguably the Howitzer and Buzz-saw are approaching a West coast bias. Clayton Kershaw would make any man want to blast some California Love. Kershaw's already a lock for his third Cy Young award. Is he the favorite for hist first National League MVP award too? How much is the weak field of candidates helping his cause?
There's two constants in life. 1.) Haters are gonna hate. 2.) The Howitzer and Buzz-saw conquer sports radio, one day, at a time....
John Lennon Exlored:#2
Join Paul Smith and Steve Champagne as they set their fun-loving, free-wheeling sights on the primarily Lennon Beatles songs "No Reply" and "I'm A Loser". Unrepentantly "John is my favorite Beatle", Paul and Steve will address the vocals, the music, the lyrics, and anything loosely associated therewith in a manner possibly best described as somewhere between laughing, crying, and "being condemned to eternal damnation for such blatantly obvious idolatry". High school and long time friend John Bard shows up to complete the John, Paul and Why didn't my mom call me George Steve Champagne.
It's very difficult to control an oversized ego. Just ask George Gerbo. He's been trying to control his co-host for years. Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo bring you another gold edition of their gold standard podcast.
In the illustrious history of the @MikeAsti11 Twitter account, we may finally found the greatest tweet ever sent to the Buzz-saw. Think six degrees of separation and Kevin Bacon.
Even though their season has been over for months, the NBA continues to own the headlines. This time some negative attention from a Team USA scrimmage. Could Paul George's gruesome injury have been prevented? What does this mean for the upcoming NBA season, most notably the Eastern Conference?
While the Pacers try to deal with life without PG, what does the addition of superstar beast Kevin Love mean for the Cavaliers? Will LeBron and Cleveland's paper champions break the curse?
An impromptu owner vs fan segment errupts. Brett Favre's impending Green Bay Packers Hall Of Fame induction is the topic.
Tiger Tiger Woods ya'll! That's all anyone seems to care about in the golf world these days. Should Tiger be playing in the PGA Championship? Is it possible for him to not be a heel (bad guy)? What should be the focus? Mike keeps praying for a Tiger resurgence, yet understands we might never see it again.
After the MLB Trade Deadline, Billy Beane sent a shocking win now message to all of baseball. Did "Mr. Money Ball" mortgage too much of the Athletic's future for one World Series run? How much pressure is really on Beane and his legacy?
The Howitzer and Buzz-saw keep on conquering sports radio, one day, at a time....
When sports dramas keep getting more and more asinine, Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo are here for the people (AKA the buffoons).
The Ray Rice domestic violence saga seems to be one that will never end. Did Rice's two game suspension by the NFL provide justice? Is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's hypocrisy the main reason for the uproar? Did Rice's wife do other battered women a disservice, by politicking with the NFL to be easy on her abuser?
If only Rice's actions were the only issue. Stephen A Smith had some foot-in-mouth disease on ESPN's First Take TV show. Even though Smith's comments were wrong, can Mike maybe try to determine what the intended message was? Does punishing a controversial media personality heel for sparking controversy, as he's hired to do, hypocritical and asinine from ESPN?
You want winners in this mess? Look no further than the NFL and ESPN. They're both laughing and laughing and laughing straight to the bank.
Ray Rice isn't the only person to bring scandal to the shield recently. What could Tony Dungy have done to avoid the backlash he's received, after his statement on Michael Sam? Does having Michael Vick's mentor and defender on his resume make Dungy a hypocrite while stating he'd avoid the distraction around Sam's homosexuality?
Even though the NFL is all over the headlines, Major League Baseball is in the midst of its most exciting time, the Trade Deadline. Who will be moved? And which teams have the most pressure to seize the damn day?
They're often controversial. They're always (at least Mike is) right. Don't want to hear them? It's simple. DON'T LISTEN. With or without you, the Howitzer and Buzz-saw conquer sports radio, one day, at a time....
