Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Canelo Alvarez Fight Preview

    in Sports

With the highly anticipated showdown between lineal middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Mexican cash cow Saul “Canelo” Alvarez only four days out, the WBC announced that it “no longer recognizes” Miguel Cotto as the WBC champion in the middleweight division. The news is extremely surprising for so many reasons, but none more incredible than the timing of the announcement.

Cotto and Canelo will meet this Saturday on HBO PPV in front of a stellar crowd in Las Vegas. The Puerto Rico-Mexico rivalry is as heightened as ever and nothing can get in its way or hinder the anticipation.

Ep 503 Miguel Cotto vs Saul Canelo Alvarez BOXiNG Wrap-up Show

    in Sports

It's billed as Puerto Rico vs Mexico, but to boxing fans one doesn't need to say more than Canelo vs Cotto. The most popular fighters from both nations collide in a history making bout for the ages. ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG breaks it all down in the aftermath. Miguel Cotto gave up his WBC Middleweight Championship with a great money excuse handed to him by the WBC, in his refusing to pay the man he never intends to face, Gennady Golovkin step-aside money, or to pay his sanctioning fee. Should Canelo win, he's awarded Cotto's belt. Should Cotto win, he gains nothing more than a victory and an uncertain future.

  • The Acts Church 13

    in Christianity

Tonight, we look at the dramatic conversion and transformation of Saul of Tarsus into Paul the Apostle, from persecutor of the Church to chief Apostle of Her and contributor to the New Testament. We ask ourselves in this analysis, where our experience of conversion and transformation compares in light of all the compromise and inclusivity being practiced today in the counterfeit church system. Are we the genuine recipients of such a life altering experience and of the Holy Spirit and true gospel message or are we merely walking out a comfortable, cultural Christianity and even susceptible to becoming part of the persecution against true believers in the coming time of tribulation?

Acts 9: Saul was destined for greatness—Probing the Prophets with Rod

    in Religion

    What a contrast!

Philip, on going forth from Jerusalem, was intent on leading people to Jesus. Paul, on the other hand, went out from Jerusalem to torture, maim and kill as many Christians as he could find.

The blind rage fomenting in Paul's "boiler" was a power God wanted to turn for His use. Since Saul's passion was fueled by a love for God and His word, all God had to do was convince Him that Jesus really was the promised and predicted Christ; then all that zeal would be refocused on leading people to Jesus, too. He might even become one who would "labor more abudantly" than all the others!

Truth mattered to Saul; it always did. So, when he was presented with overwhelming evidence he became as passionate for Jesus as he had been adamant against Him. The resultant body of work—churches and literature—stands as historic evidence that God can and will change lives.

I don't think anyone who has studied the New Testament would argue that Paul was a premier pastor, evangelist and missionary. In his farewell ... Peter preaches to gentiles.

As Paul said to one of his churches, "I hold you in my heart“ (Phil. ... 2:7-10 NIV) Pastors are persons who, like Paul, care for God's people by sharing not only the gospel.the

  • The Surface: Meet the Film's Writer/Director Michael J. Saul

    in Movies

Nicholas Snow welcomes Michael J. Saul, writer/director of The Surface, "The struggle of a young man to slowly create his own sense of family."

As Saul writes at IMDB.com, "Evan Jones, a child orphan who, for years, was shifted from one foster home to another. Now a disaffected college student, he lives with his wealthy boyfriend, Chris. Their social and financial disparities have made their relationship increasingly volatile despite their mutual love for one another. While sifting through old relics at an elderly man's yard sale, Evan finds an 8mm movie camera. The man offers to teach Evan how to use it if he comes back the following week. Upon returning, Evan meets the man's 43-year-old son, Peter. They strike up a conversation and Peter gives him reels of old 8mm movies that are collecting dust in the garage. The home movies, featuring a young Peter and his boyhood friend touch a nerve with Evan. Their youthful flirtations and tenderness are uncomplicated and pure. Evan begins to live vicariously through the home movies and his friendship with Peter soon turns romantic. Evan's relationship with his boyfriend, Chris splinters as he pushes for greater understanding of himself."

Acts 13: Paul's First Journey; Cyprus—on Probing the Prophets with Rod

    in Religion

The scene is shifting: We move from Jerusalem to Antioch, we leave Peter and follow with Paul, we depart from the land of the Jews and enter the territory of the Gentiles. And so begins the evangelistic tours of Paul.

From among five men mentioned as prophets and teachers at Antioch, the Holy Spirit selected two to go on a preaching junket: Barnabas and Saul. History began to change at that point in time. On a simple return-trip to Derbe, Saul became Paul, took the lead among the Gentiles and set the stage for severing the Gospel of Jesus from the clutches of the Judaizers.

Listen in to this next episode as begin following Paul and see him change the face of the Mediterranean world.

    King Saul’s Obedience

    in Christianity

On today's Faith Time with Faye Nicole Hines show, we will talk about King Saul's obdedience. This handsome king was God's first choice to govern the nation of Israel. Though he started his kingdom well, his focus turned to the people's acceptance- not God's acceptance.
