  • The Surface: Meet the Film's Writer/Director Michael J. Saul

    in Movies

Nicholas Snow welcomes Michael J. Saul, writer/director of The Surface, "The struggle of a young man to slowly create his own sense of family."

As Saul writes at IMDB.com, "Evan Jones, a child orphan who, for years, was shifted from one foster home to another. Now a disaffected college student, he lives with his wealthy boyfriend, Chris. Their social and financial disparities have made their relationship increasingly volatile despite their mutual love for one another. While sifting through old relics at an elderly man's yard sale, Evan finds an 8mm movie camera. The man offers to teach Evan how to use it if he comes back the following week. Upon returning, Evan meets the man's 43-year-old son, Peter. They strike up a conversation and Peter gives him reels of old 8mm movies that are collecting dust in the garage. The home movies, featuring a young Peter and his boyhood friend touch a nerve with Evan. Their youthful flirtations and tenderness are uncomplicated and pure. Evan begins to live vicariously through the home movies and his friendship with Peter soon turns romantic. Evan's relationship with his boyfriend, Chris splinters as he pushes for greater understanding of himself."

  • Weekend Review Saul Rodriguez Ivan Morales Victor Pasillas

    in Sports

We will recap this weekend's action, and Mario makes his response rap debut lol.
Unbeaten lightweight Saul “Neno” Rodriguez (18-0-1, 13 KOs), of Riverside, California, hammered out an eight round unanimous decision against Ramsey Luna (12-4, 5 KOs), of Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday night at the Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon, Nevada. Good action fight. The Robert Garcia-trained Rodriguez won by scores of 79-73, 78-74, 80-72.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Victor Pasillas (11-0, 4 KOs) from East Los Angeles, scored a third round TKO over Andres Tapia (8-5-2, 2 KOs) of Mexicali, Mexico, in an eight-rounder. Southpaw Pasillas dropped Tapia in round one. He then battered Tapia to a knee in round three. Tapia was kept on his stool after round three.

The 23-year-old brother of legendary world champion Erik Morales went down 97-93 on two scorecards, whilst a third judge gave ‘El Terrible II’ a draw - which wasn’t enough to keep the southpaw’s unbeaten run intact.

Morales had previously gone 28-0 and looked to be on the fast track to a world title shot, although will have to rethink his plans following a gutsy display by Jimenez - who improved his record to 20-11-2 and may have earned a high-profile rematch.

  • Sha'uwl; Saul; Paul.......Apostle; Heretic or ????? Part 1 of 10

    in Religion

It is a common misconception amongst the Christians that Paul and Jesus' Disciples were unanimous in their preaching of a crucified Jesus. Christians believe that Paul and the Disciples were preaching the same doctrine and everyone believed in the divine Jesus who came to be crucified for the sins of the world. However, if one carefully examines the bible, that person would see that Paul and the disciples were not preaching the same doctrine and did not believe in the same Jesus

  • What You Believe Matters

    in Christianity

Jesus made clear that if we are to be his true disciples we must hold to his teaching.  The statement is exclusionary but it does not exclude other teachings it merely states that if you are to be his disciples you must hold to his teaching.  Now if you want to be someone else's disciples just hold to their teaching. The choice is yours.  But you cannot be his true disciples and hold to some other teaching. So the question becomes what did Jesus teach? It stands to reason that you cannot follow teachings that you do not know.  According to the Gospel of Thomas he warned us not to believe leaders who say the kingdom of God is in the air.  In the Gospel according the gospe writer Mark he warned against those who would come saying I am Christ and who would deceive many.  He also said there are those who have the keys to knowledge who won't go in themselves and who will hinder others.  The bottom line is that the true teachings of Jesus have been supplanted by something called the Gospel of Christ which originated with and only existed in the mind of Saul of Tarsus (aka St. Paul). It was readily accepted because it requires nothing but faith in the Christ -- you don't have to do anything but have faith.  No matter how laudable that teaching may be it is not the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and it is not the gospel taught by Jesus.  When Jesus promised that we would do greater things than he had done the proviso was that we hold to his teaching.

Acts 9b: Paul and Peter preach publicly—Probing the Prophets with Rod

    in Religion

Paul hit the ground running; preaching Jesus all over the streets of Damascus. This did not sit well with the Jewish leaders; they looked for ways to kill him. Oh, the irony: he who once killed Christians is now being hunted as one of them!

Meanwhile, as the persecution head by Paul subsided, Luke shifts his attention back to Peter who is returning to Jerusalem from Samaria. He stops in Lydda and finds a man paralyzed and bedridden, whom he healed. Strange name for a Jew, Aeneas!

The brothers at Joppa lost a dear sister, Tabitha, and sent for Peter in their sorrow. Perhaps the received more comfort than they expected: he raised her back to life! And while he was there, Peter received an unusual call...but that's for later, when he goes to see Cornelius.

It is not that we are unfamiliar with the expression, “faith toward God.” The problem is that what we’ve been told about faith leaves us with a very limited view of faith. Those who have taught us about faith act as if they actually understood the territory called “faith.” But the fact is, what they’ve done with it is to isolate faith to certain particular usages such as: faith for health, faith for wealth, faith for possessions.

    The King Saul Church

    in Christianity

King Saul was rejected by God as king. He was disobedient therefore costing the lives of many people. Today we have many churches that gather but have been rejected by God. This message will be the acid test for you to identify if you are dwelling in a dry place. Where are your victories, peace of mind, healing and revelatory knowledge you should be experiencing? Allow this message to usher you into becoming an overcomer in Christ Jesus

    in Religion

Just what are “Dead works?” They are pretty much what it says in the Scriptures: works that do not have the life of Christ in them. Scriptures make it very plain that when you were born again, you were to understand that there are works that God had prepared in advance for you to walk in. We need to realize that as the children of God, we should be growing in the ways of our spiritual Father.
Now let’s look at what constitutes dead works and why we should repent of them.
