Sam is a comedian and social justice advocate, and the guy behind "It’s Pronounced Metrosexual", a one-man comedy show and blog about snap judgments, identity, and oppression (but in a totally funny way). He travels the country performing the show at colleges and universities, and writes articles about social justice, gender, and sexuality when he’s not on the road. http://itspronouncedmetrosexual.com
Sam and Karen Rayne will be co-hosting "S.E.X. -- an evening of laughing, learning and lasciviousness." It will be a night of classy debauchery that is part comedy show, part lively Q&A, complete lasciviousness in Austin, Texas.

Sam Rucker's reputation was already solid before his new project was released. He had been a Hip Hop producer who had also written for several artists. And God knows that he either opened for or performed with even MORE - including most of the artists who accompanied him on "Tell You Something."
There is much to say about this Virginia Beach native...and that's because there is so much inside of him. He feels so strongly about conveying a message through his saxophone. "All About Jazz" calls what Sam does: Sax Sermons. He combines what he intuitively knows about Hip Hop grooves - with Jazz melodies - and delivers those inspirational vibes along with both. What results is some kind of positively infectious music, infused with Soul and sweetness, hope and encouragement.
But, really - don't take yer friend's word for it - ask those who have eagerly participated in the team effort to get Sam Rucker's word OUT. Like Norman Connors - who brought Sam onto his "Starship" (orchestra!) - and produced tracks on Sam's buzzworthy CD. And here's somebody else who could tell you about the exciting music of Sam Rucker: fellow sax man, Euge Groove. Euge mixed and mastered "Tell You Something!" Also on board? Bobby Lyle, Tom Browne and the incredible voice of Alyson Williams :)
You're beginning to understand the reasons for the buzz...here's a multi-instrumentalist who has been an Apollo Theater crowd favorite - who showed us promise with the release of 2011's "Heat From The Heavens." Now, with his confidence and artistry soaring, Sam Rucker more than delivers on that promise. How can you help but love a guy who writes a song called "Be True 2 Who U R?" And he MEANS it!
