'Joe Symes & The Loving Kind' From Liverpool To Madame Perry's Salon With Love

    in Pop Culture

Joe Symes & The Loving Kind are about to blast off the charts! Only together a couple of years this Liverpool band's career path is on a swift upward trajectory. Yes, they are that good! Bonus -  they're fantastic guys.

Since the release of their debut album in 2013, the band have embarked on a non-stop journey all over the UK, performing in cities and towns from London to Glasgow. Taking their self-titled debut on an assault around the country has seen them pick up some major support slots including The Blockheads, Dodgy, XTC, Bloc Party and Alt-J, as well as hitting the Festival circuit, and coming to the attention of Creation Management’s Alan McGee. The album has also been greatly received in America, and had magazine and airplay all over the world.

With the release of their new single, Things Get Better, the band showcase how they have evolved, formed from more increasingly energetic live performances, with a heavier sound, but still keeping their distinctive feel found on the first album. Things Get Better has already begun to attract attention at home and abroad, being featured on BBC Introducing, being played at Anfield (Liverpool FC) on match days, as well as already having some International airplay.

Meet Joe Symes & The Loving Kind in Madame Perry's Salon tonight. Don't be left behind!

Chef & Author Lorne Oliver Cooks Up Spine Chilling Terror In Madame Perry's Salon

    ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Lorne Oliver was born and raised in the rural area outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.  It was the perfect place for him to grow up because his favorite thing to do was go hiking through the woods as often as he could with his dog Bullet at his side and a notebook in his backpack.  He first made the conscious decision to be a writer when he was ten and the school librarian asked if anyone knew any Canadian author's.  He put his hand up and the librarian said to come back when he was published.  Years later that same librarian came to the book launch of the first published anthology he was in.  It was not until June of 2012 that he published his first solo novel, Red Island.

When he's not writing or marketing his work he is usually watching something that has to do with the
mystery/suspense/thriller genre's or having fun with his wife, two children, and four dogs.

Musician & Artist Don Smith In Madame Perry's Salon

    in Entertainment

About two years ago I was in Biloxi, Mississippi with author Kerry Dunn for a Barnes & Noble event and his second television appearance. At the B&N signing we met musician/artist/coach Don Smith. I'm delighted that Smith will join us at Madame Perry's Salon and recommend that you check out his website , Facebook page, or ReverbNation site before the show.

Pasagoula native Don Smith's reputation as a singer and songwriter has increased after working with the legendary Nashville producer Doc Holiday who said "Throughout my career as a producer with over 600 career charted records and 112 career #1 records I rarely come across a singer/songwriter tht has as much passion and skill as Mr. Smith.  His songs all magane to tell a unique story that the listener does not have to sit and analyze for an hour to figure out what the story is. His performance in singing is as relaxing as his songs and stories and is always perfection at its highest level."

Smith's Nashville release Delta Wind is available on iTunes and all other digital outlets.

Billie J. Ross -owner of- ExcluShear Salon

    in Radio

Billie J. Ross graduated her cosmetology program in April of 2009 at the top of her class being voted, “most likely to succeed” by her peers. While finishing her studies at Duncanville High School, Mrs. Ross interned at a well-known franchise salon in Dallas, Raw Cuts Salon and Spa. There Mrs. Ross received education and instruction from professionals that cultivated the skills she needed to become an incredible professional. Later Mrs. Ross received her high school diploma in June of 2009, leaving high school with a cosmetologist license, furthered education, and ready to service the world with enthusiasm and confidence. With only a week out of grade school Mrs. Ross was on a mission to succeed.Mrs. Ross joined the Toni&Guy Hairdressing salon team of North Park mall. There she worked and trained for 7 months, encountering hardships and opposition. Being of the Christian faith she knew that only strength would come out of the opposition at hand. It was definitely a challenge, but Ross finished the Creative Cutting Program, which exalted her to the position of an Art Director 1. This was one of the greatest feelings she had felt. Most of the co-workers and educators had counted her out, but tenacity and persistence carried her over the hardships of her career. In January of 2010, Mrs. Ross started her salon business, ExcluShear Salon, with only two clients. Once again she was at yet another hardship in life. Knowing that in her heart this was the right decision to make, she continued marketing her business, and swiftly it started to expand. In 2013, Ross trained for Design Essentials Education Team. After many hours and days of training, Ross passed her courses and is now apart of The Design Essentials Education Team. Starting ExcluShear Salon was one of the greatest decisions Mrs. Ross made.

'Joe Symes & The Loving Kind' From Liverpool To Madame Perry's Salon

    in Entertainment

The Madame loves music, especially of the Brit-Pop, UK RnR styles! Tonight's show is one you'll definitely want to download from iTunes. I'll be surprised if you aren't already familiar with British band Joe Symes & The Loving Kind. The description below is from their website. The party starts at 7PM EDT at Mme Perry's Salon!

Joe Symes and The Loving Kind help relive 80's Bowie, Brit-Pop and the solo workings of Sir Paul McCartney. Simplistic yet all the same intensely powerful, Liverpool's acoustic/rock five-piece bring a relaxation to the mind to create a hypnotic trance, fitting in with their own rock-esque image. So far the musicians have had many an experience in the past years, one of the more notable milestones, headlining Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds after show party, proving their musical prowess within the industry

Veronique Chevalier And Jasper Bark Darken The Door Of Madame Perry's Salon!

    in Entertainment

Tonight two guests whose descriptions exceed the character limit of my title space.

Jasper Bark has written four novels: A Fistful of Strontium (Black Flame 2005 with Steve Lyons), Sniper Elite: Spear of Destiny (Abaddon 2006), Dawn Over Doomsday (Abaddon 2008) and Way of the Barefoot Zombie (Abaddon 2009). Bark's Battle Cries series of graphic novels are used in schools throughout the UK to improve literacy for 12 to 16 year olds. In 1993 he released an anthology of poetry and a spoken word album both called Bark Bites. In 1999 Bark was awarded a Fringe First at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Veronique Chevalier, The “Weird Val” of Dark Cabaret, aka The Original Mad Sonictist; Spooky Polkanista; Perv-ormance Artiste; MC-ess, Model & Authoress. A fan described her as simultaneously “Ooh La La!” AND “Laugh-out-loud hilarious!” While her fellow music artistes are obsessing with the “Punk” portion of the genre, MAD Veronique specializes in producing the “Steam”.

With art & direction by Disney’s Kyle A. Carrozza, this winsome bit of neo-retro cartooning elicits fits of mirth, with it’s witty lyrics, & beguiling sight gags. She and Kyle are currently co-creating a new animated video to her parody “Sprocky Spittoon”. She is also Creatrix of Steampunk Haiku & authoress of “My Cog Is Bigger Than Your Cog: SteamKu & Other Verstrocities“
