Sacred Sounds and Sacred Science for 2014

    in Spirituality

    Sacred Sounds and Sacred Science

For many years I have used my voice as an expression of my love to heal the broken things I see around me.  Because I can still feel the pulse of the living heartbeat of the Mother Gaia even though the illusion of death is upon the face of her children, I sing for life.  We have the power of our energy, coherent resonance, and consciousness to help heal those in the world who need it.

I know that around the globe people are dying of starvation.  They are not singing because the air is choked with dust and water is scarce. We can all sing for the people who are out of synergy with their surroundings, there is lack in their lives and they are too tired to sing.

Today's radio show is about using your voice to sing a song for any cause that you believe in.  I am going to ask you to write an affirmation down.  You can write more than one if you want to, and then when the show is finished, you are going to sing your song as if it were a prayer.  And this is going to go out into the consciousness of our world so that a new power will get stronger. Those who join us will add power to the process of changing the world.

This is the power of your voice, shattering the illusion humankind has fed for centuries that there is not enough for everyone on earth. It was a lie. There is poor distribution. There is corruption.  There is greed.  But there had always been enough.

You as a person have the power to change your life. Together we can change the perception of humankind.  Even if you sing off tune, tune in to the next show.

Sacred Sunday~Romans 7/Out with the Old Law/In with the New

    in Spirituality

Good morning church! Join us as we have our weekly Bible study! Romans Chapter 7.

Paul goes on to talk more about the role of Jewish law. He says that the law only applies to people who are alive, but that Christians are dead to the world and dead to the law. Thus, they don't have to obey all those fussy rules anymore. Sweet! It's kind of like when a man and woman get married—they have to stay faithful to each other. But if the husband dies, all bets are off. Now the wife can remarry and it's a-okay with everyone. Plus, she gets double wedding presents. Basically, Paul's saying that because of Jesus, Jewish law is dead. Christians have remarried and belong with God now. He's their dream guy. Before all that, we were slaves to the law and sin, but now we're free to run barefoot in a meadow with the Holy Spirit. How exhilarating. Now, wait just a second, Paul… it sounds like you're saying Jewish law is sinful. Oh no, Paul explains. You're misunderstanding!  The law isn't sinful, but it does point out all kinds of sin to us… making that sin look oh-so delicious. See, if no one had ever said, "Don't steal stuff," would we have even thought of stealing? Um, Paul, you're losing us. Look, the law is good, Paul says. Don't get him wrong. It's doing its best, but really it can't hold a candle to the power of sin. Ooooh, what's the power of sin? Well, it just means that sin has major pull over people. We may try to follow the law and do good things, but we just keep getting drawn back towards doing bad things. Blame it on the sin. See, we're just weak, sad little mortal beings who can't help but do bad things. And sin usually looks pretty good to us. But the good news is, there's someone who can get us off this crazy merry-go-round of sin. You guessed it—it's Jesus! It's always Jesus. Thanks to Shmoop.com

    Sacred Sunday~Romans 5/Bragging Rights?

    in Christianity

Welcome everyone to Sacred Sunday! We cordially invite you to join us for our regular Sunday Morning Bible Study! 11:00am PST.

    Romans Chapter 5

Even though Paul looks down on Christians bragging about their accomplishments, he does say that there are a few instances where it's good to get a little boastful. Basically, Christians can brag about what God has done for them and their hope that one day they'll be hanging with him in Heaven. Note: the word is "hope" not "certainty." They can also brag about their suffering because, hey, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, right? Plus, who doesn't want to hear a good I-was-almost-stoned-to-death-for-my-faith story? Oh, and of course, Christians should talk up what God has done for them by sending Jesus. This is a big one. Christians should actually probably be talking about this a lot. Paul certainly does.  Just think, if God loved the whole world back when we were just huge jerks to him, just think how much he digs us now that we're walking the straight and narrow. He definitely hearts us now. A lot. Okay, but how can just one person's actions (i.e., Jesus' death) change the whole world? Well, Paul tells us, just look at Adam. Okay, we're listening…See, silly Adam just couldn't resist taking a little nibble of that fruit (even though that was literally the one thing God asked him not to do). And because Adam couldn't follow a simple direction, he and Eve and everyone else that came after them got served one big eviction notice for Paradise. But then God sent Jesus into the world. And Jesus gave up his life to wipe away all the sins that came before him. All in a day's work. So one guy brought sin and death into the world. Thousands of years later, another guy brought salvation and eternal life to the world. Well, we know which one we're addressing the thank you card to.
