Russell Means, AIM Co-founder Speaks on Matriarchy
Russell Means has lived a life like few others in this century - revered for his selfless accomplishments and remarkable bravery. He was born into a society and guided by way of life that gently denies the self in order to promote the survival and betterment of family and community. His culture is driven by tradition, which at once links the past to the present.
The L.A. Times has called him the most famous American Indian since Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. His indomitable sense of pride and leadership has become embedded in our national character. Today, his path has brought him to Hollywood, thus enabling him to use different means to communicate his vital truths. Through the power of media, his vision is to create peaceful and positive images celebrating the magic and mystery of his American Indian heritage. In contemplating the fundamental issues about the world in which we live, he is committed to educating all people about our most crucial battle - the preservation of the earth.
Thirty years ago, reflecting the consciousness of the sixties, he captured national attention when he led the 71-day armed takeover on the sacred grounds of Wounded Knee, a tiny hamlet in the heart of South Dakota's Pine Ridge Reservation. Means joined "The Longest Walk" in 1978 to protest a new tide of anti-Indian legislation including the forced sterilization of Indian women. Following the walk, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution saying that national policy was to protect the rights of Indians, to believe, express and exercise their traditional religions, including but not limited to access to sites, use and possession of sacred objects, and the freedom to worship through ceremonials and traditional rites.
At the end of his celebrated life, with the same passionate determination, he directed his energy towards the entertainment industry.

Tune in as the Sistas chat with Russell Stevensen, author of For the Cause of Righteousness: A Global History of Black and Mormonism, 1830 - 2013. Russell's newest work seeks to explore the story of blacks and Mormonism through an intimate lens, focusing not only on the experiences of church leaders but also the ordinary Latter-day Saint: the day laborer nervous about his African ancestry, the West African woman establishing her own ‘Mormon’ congregation, the Pat Boone-loving Mormon missionary in Africa and the Black Panther musing on the Mormons’ wasted potential. Robert Orsi has argued that religion ‘comes into being in an ongoing, dynamic relationship with realities of everyday life.’ Race was both a spoken and lived experience. The Mormon people witnessed it, felt it, and absorbed it. But for the Mormon people, racism was also a conscious decision—and one that exacted a heavy toll during their epoch in the wilderness.
HIV has not been proven to exist, much less cause AIDS or any other disease. So says David Crowe, president of Rethinking AIDS, amd backed by some 3,000 scientists, physicians, science journailists and others, including top virologists and a Nobel Prize winner, Kary Mullis, who invented one of the procedures being used inappropriately to determine HIV "load."
An alternative view to the profit-driven unproven HIV hypothesis. What is HIV really? Has it been purified? What is AIDS? What really causes AIDS? What do we need to know about HIV testing? What do we need to know about drug treatments? Why is the Hip Hop community being targeted to get tested?
We had to do a two-part show to answer these questions. This is Part 1 of 2.
Interview by Richard Jannaccio and Chief69.
Note: The last sentence was cut off. We are trying to restore it. The response to the question was that there are numerous ways to interpret the test results. There are different HIV antibody tests produced by different companies, with different directions for interpreting the results in different countries. So if you go from one country to another, your HIV test result could change from positive to negative or vice versa. Or it could be judged "indeterminate" which means "we don't know." That's in addition to the fact that the test is not specific for antibodies to HIV. It is produced from a mixture of proteins of cultured cells and whatever may have been cultured with those cells.
After a 5 month sabbatical from the sports talk world, "The Mad Scientist of Sports" Nick Ficorelli returns. However, this is not the average everyday sports show he is bringing back to the air waves. "The Mad Scientist" has created his own personal sports lab, and you, the audience, as well as many of his special guests, will be his test subjects. He will throw theories out, and you never know where they will be coming from. He will keep everyone guessing, and he will open his lab to any and all comers. Be prepared for mad science of sports at its bests.
This week, "The Mad Scientist" and his lovely assistant, @SportsBySharona Sharona Fabulosa, bring in their new test subjects - at 1005pm EST, we will have "The Godfather of Football" Russell Baxter join us to talk NFC North, at 10:35pm we will have James Morris and will be talking about the Bengals, and at 11pm we will be joined by the Patriots 4th and 2 crew of "Murph" Thomas Murphy, "The Sniper" Steve Balestrieri, and "Fulham's Finest" Russ Goldman to talk about the Patriots.
The Beacons are Lit, The Experiments will be many, and "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab" is open for business.
