Charlotte Howard and The Hair Artist Association,LLC team is honored to have Maureen Francisco join them on today's radio show.
Maureen Francisco immigrated to the US from the Philippines when she was just five years old. Her English was poor at best and the teasing was non-stop at school. However, Maureen did not play the victim card. She used her experiences as motivation rather than limitation. She diligently practiced English until she mastered it, and wound up with a better grasp on it than her native English-speaking peers. She worked three jobs simultaneously to pay for her college education while still managing to graduate at the top of her class.
Now Maureen is the co-owner of NW Productions, a media and production company, and is writing her first screenplay. She lives with her husband in the Pacific Northwest. Learn more at www.maureenfrancisco.com.
Eccentric antique shop, Loved to Death opens its doors to Science Channel for a second season of ODDITIES: SAN FRANCISC, Saturdays at 10pE/P. Loved to Death is more than just a store — it's the heart and soul of the oddest street in town.
The store’s colorful owner Audra, and employee Wednesday, are joined by newcomer Lincoln to take on the eclectic customers and bizarre antiques that enter the Haight Street haven. From germaphobes to ancient artifacts, the ten brand new episodes of ODDITIES: SAN FRANCISCO showcase the weird and wacky world of antiques.
Owner Audra began her career working in a natural history store and her personal collection grew from there. Audra is also an artist and makes the dioramas and jewelry in her upstairs studio. A perfectionist, Audra prides herself in hand-selecting the most perfect items for her shop, traveling from private collections to flea markets on a regular basis.
Wednesday is a part-time Goth model whose longstanding obsession with obscurities made her a perfect fit at Loved to Death. The resident 'brainiac' enjoys researching the origins of bizarre items and often goes into long historical and scientific tangents when explaining them to customers.

The research process continues with a special Halloween episode of the Bedford & Sullivan podcast!
Speaking of the holiday, Brooklyn Dodgers outfielder Duke Snider once said he hated Halloween because their rival, the New York Giants, shared the colors of black and orange with October 31.
And so, it is fitting that today we have a man on the show so connected to the Baseball Giants franchise.
Peter Magowan was not only their President and Managing General Partner from 1993-2008, but has followed the team ever since growing up off of Central Park on 69th Street in Manhattan. We'll discuss his childhood, heading out to Ebbets Field to watch his Giants play their rivals, the heartbreak he felt when they left in 1957, and saving San Francisco from that same fate when he and a group of investors bought the franchise in the early 1990's.
So, join us at 12PM ET for the latest edition of the Bedford & Sullivan podcast!
Rudy Novotny is the "Voice of America's Marathons." He is the race announcer for large and small races everywhere and today he's on the show for a wide ranging discussion. We'll talk about Boston, Big Sur, shoes, the production of runDisney events, famous people he's met this year and much, much more. Enjoy!
