Crowdfunding Locally - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show we’ll talk about 2 fairly new aspects of investing ... Crowdfunding & Investing locally. New and yet returning to traditional investments that took place 100 years ago. So which is it ... new or is it Déjà vu? Since very few of our listeners were investing that long ago, only you can decide after you listen to the show.
On our last show we talked about Alternative Investments, and this topic fits squarely into that category. It’s not something you’ll want to move 100% of your portfolio into by year-end, but certainly something we all need to learn more about. Our guest to explain Crowdfunding Locally is Marshall Saunders, Managing Partner of SaundersDailey an online investment marketplace focused on real estate opportunities. Although the company is currently focused on the US mid-West don’t be surprised to see their marketplace expand throughout the US in the near future.
If you’re not already investing in real estate, not familiar with Crowdfunding, or didn’t know there were ways to invest in your local market ... listening to this show needs to be high on your priority list! Bond’s the Name - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show we’ll deal with an asset class nearly twice the size of the equity market – namely the bond market. That statistic holds in the US as well as worldwide. So why do investors spend so much time watching and tracking the equity market and so little time tracking the bond market? On the other hand, if most Financial Advisors recommend having 60-80% of a portfolio in equities and the remainder in bonds & cash ... how can more money be invested in bonds than in equities?
The bond market in the US and most of the world has been rising for the past 35 years. That would seem to be a long enough horizon for basing future predictions – or is it? To answer these questions and to give us some guidance on how to navigate the bond market in the future, we’ve asked Laura Digan to be our special guest. Laura Digan is the Director of the RIA Bond Desk helping Registered Investment Advisers (RIA’s) with their fixed income needs. She is also a principal trader with RM Stark and Co, Inc.
We highly recommend this show to all investors who count on bonds for fixed income, and it should be mandatory for investors who have gains on bonds in their portfolio. So prepare your questions, then grab a cup of coffee, tea, glass of wine, or your favorite beverage and join us for Bond’s the Name ...
Bankruptcy: Investor’s Perspective - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show we’ll share a wealth of information on topic that investors & savers seldom have to deal with – Bankruptcy. It’s very rare that investors file bankruptcy, but there was clearly a surge during the Great Recession. Have you wondered why? Certainly they weren’t all clients of Bernie Madoff or MF Global.
As we heard on a recent show, our portfolios can be negatively affected by one of our publicly traded investments filing for bankruptcy. Is that the only time you have to worry about bankruptcy? Let’s not forget about investments in private companies, landlords dealing with tenant bankruptcy, private mortgage lenders, and business owners who have clients file bankruptcy. What about your bank CD’s if the FDIC filed for bankruptcy? Municipal bonds if a city files bankruptcy? Or what about Treasury Bills or other sovereign debt if that country files bankruptcy?!
Our guest David Knapper, Principal of Knapper Law in Phoenix AZ specializing in Bankruptcy, Business Law, and Commercial Litigation. He earned his BS cum laude from Drake Univ. and his JD with honors from the Univ. of Iowa. Mr. Knapper holds a 5 star rating by his peers, is a member and past President of the Arizona Trustee Assoc. I had the opportunity to meet him as the expert brought in by AZREIA to educate real estate investors about the perils and opportunities in bankruptcy.
Unless you’re one of the few investors who are well versed on how to deal with the various types of bankruptcies, or you expect to be lucky and avoid being impacted for the rest of your life ... grab a cup of coffee, tea, glass of wine, or your favorite beverage and join us for Bankruptcy: Investor’s Perspective ...
OPM & Infinite Banking - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show we’ll deal with an aspect of OPM that only 2% of investors are aware of. We hope you’ll be able to take advantage of it to build your wealth. If you’re wondering if these OPM strategies really work – I can assure you I take full advantage of them and have build my wealth by doing it, and doing it well. In other words I don’t just talk the talk, “I walk the talk”.
Once you understand that it’s not difficult to earn more on your investments than it costs to borrow today, you’ll want to take advantage of as many sources of low cost debt as possible. Our goal is to share those sources with you ! If you have some pre-conceived notions about buying insurance, or have been frustrated getting loans from banks, then maybe it's time to learn about “Infinite Banking”. You should have no problem developing a good relationship with this new banker and qualifying for a loan, since you will “Be Your Own Banker”! So rather than paying interest to someone else, why not pay it to yourself? If this sounds too good to be true, or you've never heard of this concept, I'm sure you'll really enjoy this show.
Our guest Thomas DeSchutter , a Partner at Bloom Strategies and vice-chair of the Small Business Council at the Vancouver Board of Trade, has a background in financial planning and helps clients create inter-generational wealth.
Just imagine that the only debt you have at retirement is debt to yourself, then grab a cup of coffee, tea, glass of wine, or your favorite beverage and join us.
Other People's Money - Part I
The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this pre-recorded show we’ll deal with one of the most contentious debates – Should I pay off my mortgage early? If not, then how should I invest that money? And this topic is directly related to some of the most common questions we get: Is there good debt, or is all debt bad? What is the highest return guaranteed investment? Should I ignore the financial advice I got from my parents & grandparents? Where will I get the money for a down payment or to invest in a new business? What's the source of some of these commonly held beliefs?
This show will take some listeners outside of their comfort zone, since we’ll be challenging their long held beliefs. Long held beliefs are just like habits we’ve developed over many years. We don’t question why we do what we’ve always done, unless someone points out the benefits of changing, or the risks of continuing. The key question you should consider during this show: Would I rather be debt free, or financially free?
We’ve tried to anticipate & answer your key questions, since you won’t be able to ask them during this show. This show was originally recorded on July 11, 2011, against a backdrop of Declaring Independence. Are you ready to Declare Financial Independence? If so grab a cup of coffee, tea, glass of wine, or your favorite beverage and join us for the Other People’s Money – Part I ...
in Real Estate
State of the Housing Market - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show our returning guest Michael Orr will help educate us on a major asset class, which affects each of us whether we invest in residential real estate, we own a home, or we rent. I've said before that once housing prices start to rise rapidly, we can expect housing to be kicked out of the US CPI just like food & energy. Although as far as I know, we don't have a single listener who can avoid eating, consuming energy, and living somewhere !
It's been a full 3 years since we had Michael Orr on the show, and I forget that most listeners don't have regular access to the information he provides in the Cromford Report and as Director of the Real Estate Center Theory & Practice at the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU). So you may not know that his prediction on the housing market bottom, the rapid rise, and the plateau in prices starting late in 2013 happened just as he stated. I can assure you, he's not like one of the talking heads just sharing his opinion ... he bases his predictions on facts and trends. And no one has better data on housing than he does.
So has the resurgence of housing prices just begun? Are we in another bubble? And what are the indicators he suggests we use to navigate this important asset class? We'll cover these topics and many more, so prepare your questions for THE expert, grab a cup of coffee, tea, glass of wine, or your favorite beverage and join us for the State of the Housing Market ...
