Tune in for Spotlight Author Janice G. Ross's live chat with Rave Reviews Book Club board member Teri Garringer.
Janice Ross was born in Guyana, South America and migrated to the USA in 1980. Although her citizenship certificate now reads the United States of America, she considers herself a citizen of the world. Sure she has not physically been around the world and back, but she’s travelled in her mind and dreams.
Janice is an author. She enjoys writing about social issues and personal experiences. Janice’s debut release was entitled Damaged Girls. She uses the three books in that series to detail the effects of different forms of abuse, discussing issues that are known to be taboo. Her next release, Jumping Ship, is a dedication to her country of birth and an introductory novella to the Island Hopping Series – due out in 2014. It’s poised to be a colorful and emotional experience of life, love and family. As of present, she is also a contributor to a short story collection – Just Between Us, Inspiring Stories by Women. And lastly, Loving Nate is a novella about the realities of losing one’s self to love.
Janice enjoys reading. And is drawn to stories with distinct characters that she can love or hate, characters she can form alliances with or characters that she can swear off and despise. She is also weak for a good cultural tale, preferably in the form of historical fiction. Janice loves to be taken off guard by clever language and settings.
Janice is also a devout supporter and promoter of other authors through social media. She hosts a weekly show, Cultural Cocktails, on the largest social radio network, Blog Talk Radio.

Tonight my guest is Robyn Peterman
Robyn Peterman writes because the people inside her head won't leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include laughing really hard with friends, shoes (the expensive kind), Target, Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, bejeweled reading glasses, her kids, her super-hot hubby and collecting stray animals. A former professional actress with Broadway, film and T.V. credits, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count.
Writing gives her peace and makes her whole, plus having a job where she can work in her underpants really appeals to her. You can check out Robyn's website at robynpeterman.com and also follow her on Twitter and Facebook.
What is your vision for your family? Is it to have work-life balance and to raise happy, healthy, well-balanced and capable children?
If so how are you going to achieve this?
Anyone who has achieved something great in life started with an inspiring vision. Ghandi had a vision of peace, Martin Luther King Jn's powerful speach began with "I have a dream". Oprah Winfry, said "As a young child, I had a vision, not of what I wanted to accomplish, but I knew that my current circumstances would change." and of course change they have. These are just some of the many people who we admire and have fulfilled or continue to live their inspirational visions.
So what is your vision of parenthood? What are your hopes and dreams for your children?
We know from research that people who have written down goals are more likely to achieve them than those who don't. Think of something you have achieved in your life that you are proud of. Did you hold the vision of its completion and the rewards in your mind. Were you inspired to get up every day and do one more thing that would get you closer to your achieveing your goal? And then one day you came to the realisation that "you did it"... all the hard work and effort paid off.
If we are unclear about our vision of parenthood and our vision for our children, we will just continue to muddle our way through without a clear direction or purpose. We leave our children's future to chance!
If you want to have an inspirational vision of parenthood - one where you see yourself empowering your children with all of the skills they need to navigate life safely, successfully and joyfully then join Dr Robyn Mills and Dr Rosina McAlpine as they explore this topic and share their own hopes and dreams for parenthood, grandparent hood and for their children.
We will be talking to Jason Ross about his autistic carnival, poetry will be read and this will be a very enthralling show.
Simply Drive Mom Crazy. I am not going to tell people ways on which to drive their mom crazy. It simply a metaphor.
My name is Jason Ross who is a 34 year old Autistic Adult and Autistic disability rights activist. I support the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network, and what used to be Autism Network International and now is Association for Autistic Community, and Ollibean.
I have Asperger Syndrome. I have always believed in Neurodiversity. A lot of people think of me as the peacemaker in the community because I am always trying my best to bring the whole community together.
I am the type of person who always wants to learn and do new things. I gear up for it. Whenever I see something new, I try to experience it unless say its something that won’t be good for me.
This site will hopefully give you a glimpse into my world. A world which is also part of the Autistic World.
