    REINCARNATION - Aging Gratefully

    in Spirituality

In this broadcast, Joanna Infeld, author of the book "God's Spies; Gratefully Aging" will explore some of the beliefs associated with the idea of reincarnation and life after death. As we age and we approach the exit, we inevitably wonder what lies ahead on the other side. Do our beliefs influence what happens to us after the death of the physical body? We will be asking these and other questions with no hope of finding a definitive answer (yet).

Today I am speaking with John vanZyl, an entertainer whose work I have observed through my blogging tribe.  At 6yrs of age his family emigrated to Australia from Holland.  His father, a bricklayer, was seeking a new life for his family, away from war torn Europe.  From an early age John was hooked on music, listening to such music greats as The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. to name a few. And then his dream of becoming another famous musician blossomed when he was 12 and his family moved to the big smoke, the big city of Adelaide.  From age 16 until now, at the age of 68, John’s life has revolved around music playing all sorts of roles and gigs.  Starting as a drummer, he switched to vocals, later back to drums for about five years.  He played piano for 5 years and classical guitar and even taught guitar for about 6 years.  No matter what he tried, look out into a big audience and see all the people out there with big smiles on their faces having a great time.  Now he performs the role of Mic
