Why have people who have been a part of the cultural conscious community so long they should be eligible for retirement and a pension still not figured out and embraced nationhood and REAL Black Afrikan Power?
Call into the show so we can figure out how to get these people to their graduation ceremony.
With Christmas having just passed, and the New Year upon us, How about we have some fun. Whether that be stories from your time in the service that make you laugh, or things you may do during the holidays to keep it positive. On a more serious note, I want to remind everyone of the homeless Veterans, those not fortunate enough to have a roof over their head this holiday season. As always, we are here to talk about Veteran issues, positive and negative. Please feel free to call us up to chat, to discuss, or to listen. Your choice
ENVISION THIS: Rooftop fruit and vegetable gardens in low-income neighborhoods
Chelle Hennessey would like to see a garden on every rooftop in every low-income neighborhood so that this population can have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. She has developed a passion for creating health and wellness programs that are essentially an expansion on the idea of community gardens. She also offers a program to businesses that would like to benefit their employees: “This program has many unmeasurable benefits, including increased loyalty to the company and fewer sick days taken.”
Chelle is a certified In.Form holistic health coach, distributor, and executive assistant for Nature's Sunshine, an herbal supplement line that is holistic in nature, and also offers weight loss, weight management and supplements for almost any diagnosis out there. She especially assists during consultations with clients with gut issues, something she has a lot of experience with.
Chelle is the author of a short pamphlet, How I Beat Crohn's Disease, available at Amazon.com. “I was one of the people who were diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and I have beat it with diet, stress relieving activities and being open minded to new methods of treating the disease.”
Feel free to contact Chelle at 407-325-0204 or just go to her website at chellehennessey.mynsp.com
Your hosts, Burl and Merry Hall, offer their book, Sophia's Web: A Passionate Call to Heal Our Wounded Nature, at their website envisionthismedia.com and through Amazon.com
Lt Col Folsom tells the story of a Marine battalion fighting in Afghanistan and the gritty story of training, war, IEDs and staying alive in this conflict. Lt Col Folsom is a grunt's officer walking the patrols with the troops.
This episode was recorded December 14th, 2014. It was November 1950. The U.S. military was moving toward the North Korean border with China and Mao. MacArthur wanted to continue into Manchuria. The coldest winter in 100 years desended upon Korea. The troops on the front thought they’d be home by christmas. Then—they reached the Chosin reservoir and the Chinese swept across the border. Hear this gripping story from those who were there. Join host, Bob Gould and guests: historian Col. William Latham U.S. Army (ret), Marine Korean War vet Sgt.Fred Sozio, Sgt. Paul Fortino and others as we listen to the retelling of the “Chosin Peninsula”.
Deeply reported, beautifully written, and powerfully moving, Soldier Girls is “a breakthrough work...What Thorpe accomplishes in Soldier Girls is something far greater than describing the experience of women in the military. The book is a solid chunk of American history...Thorpe triumphs” (The New York Times Book Review).
