    Former Raven O.J. Brigance provides powerful testimony against physician assisted suicide in Maryland.  The issue has been heard in both chambers and its fate is unclear.

    030515 Niagara County Legislators Dennis Virtuoso and Mark Grozio

    Councilmembers Anderson, Fruscione and Robins were found guilty of violating my brothers civil rights. A jury of four men and four women found all three guilty of the First Amendment violation of freedom of speech.


    Frozen water pipes is still an issue in Niagara Falls and the challenge for both the Water Board and city officials will see what can be done next year.


    In the meantime the Water Board is reminding you that next week the temperature is going to drop again. So please make sure that the lowest faucet in your house has a small stream of water flowing out of it, approximately the size of the lead in a lead pencil.


    Chalk up another one for the Vince Anello Show. This morning I noticed that some of the side streets are being posted. We have been talking about it for several weeks and it hasn't been done for side streets since the Anello Administration.


    The city Council's Financial Advisory Board met Tuesday night but, when I brought it up at the coffee shops it didn't seem to be on the radar yet.


    Some people are wondering since we just received a ton of casino money come why are we having this hassle. We have already spent $6 million in a $9 million project


    Judge Mark A. Violante is running for reelection. Judge Angelo J. Morinello will be turning 70, the mandatory retirement age for judges in New York. That seat will become open.


    Danielle M. Restaino and David G. Boniello each have announced their bids for the bench. So at this point we have three people running for two seats.

    State Senator Kim Thatcher (R-Oregon) on Current Issues

    Kim Thatcher is an American politician. She is currently a Republican state senator from Oregon's Senate District 13, having won election in 2014. Prior to becoming a senator, she was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from House District 25. Thatcher was first elected to the Oregon House District 25 in 2004, representing the Keizer area. Early in her career, as the owner of the highway construction firm KT Contracting, she was well known as a critic of the Oregon Department of Transportation.In May 2005, Thatcher successfully sponsored a bill to limit public access to information about concealed handgun license. She was reelected in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012. In 2014, Thatcher chose to run for Oregon State Senate Seat 13, held by the retiring Larry George, rather than seek reelection to her house seat.     Obama Cronies Trying to Defeat Netanyahu

    A U.S. State Department-funded group is financing an Israeli campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and has hired former Obama aides to help with its grassroots organizing efforts. 


     


    U.S. based activist group OneVoice International has partnered with V15, an independent grassroots movement in Israel that is actively opposing Netanyahu’s party in the upcoming elections, Ha’aretz reported on Monday. Former national field director for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign Jeremy Bird is also reportedly involved in the effort.

    Mayor Rahm Emanuel has raised $1.4 million for his reelection bid—and that's just in the last few weeks.
    Jesus Garcia received earlier this month from SEIU Healthcare, the contributions have brought his campaign fund up to about $700,000., Alderman Robert Fioretti, had about $259,000 on hand at the end of September and has reported raising about $77,000 since. Fioretti's biggest donation so far—$25,000—has come from J.R. Davis, owner of a detective and armored car company. Last week he received $2,500 from Mike Ditka.Chicago Reader
