Candice Night, new solo album Starlight Starbright

    in Music

Internationally renowned singer-songwriter Candice Night, who has just released a solo album Starlight Starbright, inspired by motherhood and her children  — Autumn (5 years old) and Rory (3 years old). Her husband — legendary guitarist and Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ritchie Blackmore -- contributed guitar on this offering. Not only did Candice write songs on the album, but her daughter Autumn (who obviously absorbed her parents’ creativity) wrote the song “Lullaby In The Night” (music video below), as well as several short stories included in the booklet.

A collection of ethereal lullabies that transport the listener to a place of magic and innocence, the songs of Starlight Starbright have also had a calming affect on children dealing with sensory issues, hyperactivity, and learning disabilities at several schools.

  • Global Peace Day September 21 2015 Holly Stephey Red Velvet Media Blogtalk Radio

    in Pop Culture

The International Day of Peace Vigil is a global undertaking that requires the efforts of many people of all faiths and beliefs to be successful. Red Velvet Media encourages you to support the United Nations' call for a full day of global ceasefire on 21 September by observing the day in spiritual contemplation for peace, global ceasefire and nonviolence with other members of your community and/or the broader interfaith community.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace. The work of the United Nations would not be possible without the initial partnerships that were active in its creation and the thousands of partnerships each year between governments, civil society, the private sector, faith-based groups and other non-governmental organizations that are needed to support the Organization in achieving its future goals.

The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session, which was held annually on the third Tuesday of September. The first Peace Day was observed in September 1982.

The United Nations invites all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day, and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace. In the words of John Lennon, Give Peace a chance.

Rock Manager Vicky Hamilton , Appetite For Dysfunction: A Cautionary Tale

    in Books

At 22, Vicky Hamilton left her hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and arrived on the Sunset Strip as a wide-eyed blonde with an ear for rock & roll: “I was back home interviewing Tom Petty for Three Rivers Review,” says Hamilton, “He told me I was a ‘real California girl’, and that’s all it took.” It was 1981, and Hamilton arrived at the center of Hollywood, where the scene was erupting with spandex, sex, cocaine, Aqua Net hairspray and madcap visionaries. Hamilton discovered Guns N’ Roses and became their first manager and surrogate mother, living in her apartment as Axl Rose ducked a rape charge. “I was basically harboring a fugitive,” she says,  "Axl ended up crashing on my couch for six months.” Hamilton then negotiated GNR’s contract with Geffen Records. In 1986, she was let go and forced to sue the band to recoup the $25,000 she’d borrowed to bankroll them. Hamilton now shares her stories in a memoir about a woman who rode the crazy train with some of rock’s wildest frontmen, and matched their hard-partying ways. Sober for 15 years, Hamilton spent that last seven excavating her private collection of photos, flyers, contracts, letters, and interviews to create a revealing look into her fascinating life. Her book includes new details about her turbulent relationship with Axl Rose and Poison’s Bret Michaels, her experience as an A&R rep for Geffen, and above all, Appetite for Dysfunction: is the story of her rise and fall, and how she regained her life by becoming a Grammy Award winning executive that helped relaunch the career of June Carter Cash in 1999. Steven Adler (drummer, Guns N’ Roses): “Vicky was probably the best thing that happened to us in the early days. She dealt with us when nobody else would, and made everything happen for us. I’m grateful for that.

Holly Stephey talks to Dr. Jill .Lee , Certified Holistic Life Coach.

    in Pop Culture

In Jills own words, she describe's herself ..Married and a mother of four children has given me a lifetime of incredible experiences as well as challenges. I have also been a business owner for over 40 years, and I have worked with people from all around the world . I am self-taught and diversified in every aspect of my manufacturing business. I had to learn it all, from the ground up. I have interfaced with companies that were just starting out in business to some of the largest mega-corporations in the world. One of the greatest rewards for me over the years was working with hundreds of loyal employees and thousands of clients. Every day brought a new challenge, and I was there, not only with an open ear but with an open heart. It is through these experiences that I had discovered that my passion was to work with others; and help bring balance, clarity, and harmony into their lives. I made the choice to take my life into a new direction and follow my passion. I became a Holistic Life Coach, and earned my Ph.D. in Philosophy, and I am an Ordained Reverend. With a thirst for knowledge, I couldn’t stop there. I studied and received my Certification in Crystal Therapy, and Crystal Healing, which I now incorporate into my practice. It is with great passion that I work with many individuals and their families who have life-altering situations and challenges; such as Family Losses, Divorce, Financial Issues, Drug and Alcohol Problems, and Care for Family Caregivers, to mention a few. And there are those who are searching for direction.  I help others discover their strengths and guide them in the direction so they can flourish in their own light. It is with great pride that I announce the summer of 2016, I will be releasing my first book ~ Fifty-Two Weeks of Clarity: How to Transcend to Self-Reliance, as well as Co-Authoring; The Assertive Woman: Confidence, Communication, & Charisma, which will be released at the same time.
