Overcoming life's adversities is an acquired skill that Floyd D.A. Miley, III has mastered. As a youth, he escaped becoming a victim of generational curses to receive a scholarship to play football at the University of Tennessee Volunteers. In college, he overcame athletic, academic, and life challenges to start two years at defensive back. He is etched forever in Volunteer lore for his now famous blocked field goal return for a touchdown igniting the improbable comeback win 35 -34 in the Miracle at South Bend against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 1991. He received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of Tennessee.
In 2010, he was a semester away from earning his MBA when his life spiraled out of control. Like millions of Americans, Floyd found himself unemployed, penniless, and homeless. At the same time, he was haunted by past failures, disappointments, and abandoned dreams. In what should have been the darkest moment of his life became his most enlightened moment. Inspired by A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes, Floyd discovered and accepted his life’s purpose which renewed his passion to pursue his dreams. Miley III's debut book 'Recognize Your Greatness' stands as a testament to his endurance and desire to empowers, encourages, and inspires others navigation and potential maximization.
He is a rising author, life coach, and public speaker whose innovative approach is garnering considerable acclaim from literary critics and audiences alike. He blends humor, charisma, and keen insight with life experiences to deliver his powerful messages. Recently he was among the key speakers at the 9th Annual Black Issues Conference at the University of Tennessee.
Jesus tells us in John chapter 14 that he is the only way to get to Heaven. The Bible tells me that without the shedding of blood there can not be forgiveness of sin. What kind of perfect, sin offering would it take for the sins of the whole world, from yesterday through the rest of earth's time to be washed away?
The blood of Jesus can do that for you. After you ask Jesus to save you, and forgive you; when God looks at you He sees you as pure as snow, even though your sins were as scarlet. Don't add anything to it, and don't delay, come as you are to Jesus.
Jesus, he is more than just a story, He is the King of Glory, and he wants to make you a fellow heir to Heaven.

He shares some of the valuable ways to recognise your colleagues, co-workers and employees he discovered as he rose from an entry level position in a call centre position to Team Leader to Country Manager to CEO and how a culture of recognition helped drive revenue growth and positive cash-flows in the highly-commoditised telecommunications industry with its razor thin margins.
He shares some of the mistakes he made to help listeners avoid them and also sees them as small learning lessons that bring great rewards.

Social media is the way youth communicate with and influence each other, which can be a good thing, but it can also be tragic when a negative trend becomes popular. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and many teens, depressed and full of hopelessness, often due to the overwhelming hormonal changes that create mood swings, choose to attempt suicide. When they post the idea on social media sights, somehow the notion becomes eerily popular. Suicides among teens have escalated in recent yars, many of them seemingly prompted by talks aboutit among themselves on social media. When someone commits suicide, it is devastating to loved ones. How can you recognize signs your teen may be suicidal. Therapist Howard Willilams explains some of some of the common behaviors to look out for.
We all know about the dangers of second-hand smoke. We've heard about those for years. But second-hand stress? Does that mean you can actually "catch" someone else's stress? Believe it or not, studies have shown that the answer is yes, and its effects can range from just being annoying all the way to devastating.
Think for a moment. Have you been in the vicinity when a couple were arguing, say, at a restaurant? Did that make you uncomfortable? What about family events? Those are high on the list for creating stress in and of themselves. But what about when famly members get into a heated discussion, someone gets mad, maybe somebody leaves? Everyone else is left standing around looking uncomfortably at each other.
Second-hand stress can do more damage than you know - and today we're going to talk about it. Join Teresa Beeman as she discusses 9 Steps to Recognize and Avoid Second-Hand Stress.
