  • CHILD HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR, RAISED CATHOLIC, REFLECTS ON The Nostra Aetate

    in Motivation

Please join host Frankie Picasso on Thursday, October 22nd at 1:00 pm EST as she goes on a Mission Unstoppable with guest Lucia Weitzman a child survivor of the holocaust.

As Hitlers armies began to gather up the Polish Jews, Lucia’s parents feared for her safety and rightly so. In their attempt to escape, they decided it best to leave Lucia behind, hidden in plain site. They gave her to a childless Polish Catholic couple to raise as their own, always hoping that they might meet again after the war, but Poland was hardest hit by the Nazis. There were no survivors left behind.

Lucia was born in Bochnia, Poland in 1940. Her Jewish parents perished in the Holocaust and Lucia was raised in the Catholic Church by her adopted parents the Swiateks. Lucia loved the church and had deep and spiritual faith. When she learned that she too was a Jew, she really had no idea what that meant, beyond knowing that everyone hated the Jews. As she grew older, Lucia began suffering anti semitism as a lone Jew in Bochnia, and eventually concluded that she would never be able to marry or have children if she stayed. After escaping detention by Communist authorities in 1961, she immigrated to the United States and married Herman Weitzman, a Holocaust survivor and businessman raised in a traditional Jewish family

Lucia’s life has been documented in her new book The Rose Temple , written by her son Mitchell, which tells an incredible tale of survival, loss, and a love for God that would spur a spiritual search  across the world , not once but several times as she sought answers to life’s most pressing questions.

Factory Farmed vs Pasture Raised Beef - Your Health, Your Choice!

    in Nutrition

Pasture raised, organic grass fed beef is the meat of the moment! They claim that it is a healthier choice of meat than its grain-fed counterpart. However, it also commands a much higher price per lb. Many consumers would like to eat healthier but shy away from the sky high prices that makes grass fed beef such an elitist food.

Many of our clients want to know, “If I am going to spend that kind of money… is it really worth it?”

Advocates claim a trifecta of advantages: Grass-fed beef is simply better for you, better for the animal and better for the planet.

    So, is it?

Today Dr. Budweiser, founder of Weiser Living, will discuss the difference between CAFO (Confined Animal Feeding Operation) beef and organic pasture raised grass fed beef and whether that price per lb really is worth it or not.

Some of the points he will cover are:

    The History Of Beef
What You Need To Know About The Beef Industry
    Better For The Cow!

    A Cow's Natural Diet
    What Exactly Is A CAFO?
The CAFO Diet & The Health Implications For The Cow
WARNING! Not All Grass Fed Is Created Equal!

    Better For The Planet!

    Environmental Impact

    Better For You!

12 Benefits Of Eating Grass Fed Beef

CDC Confirms Link Between CAFOs And Superbugs
How CAFO Meats May Decimate Your Gut Health

LNSA: Wild Caught vs Tank Raised Plus Care of Sick and More!

    in Podcasting

Basically im torn. I like the idea of tank raised fish, but I am more than aware of the problems of hybridization and inbreeding, not to mention the selective breeding for certain traits. Its really not any better than puppy mills, imho. There are pros however, such as not depleting the wild populations, and the ability to adapt to wider range of water parameters, making once unobtainable fish comfortable in our home aquaria. Then there are the issues of hormone injection, tattooing (which I wont get into, its obvious), and genetic alteration. Of course the biggest advantage to tank raised fish, is keeping the cost down to the average hobbyist. On the other hand, wild caught populations of fish diminish their numbers in the wild, to the point of near extinction and extinction in some cases.

An injured fish and its care How to Care for an Injured Fish • For an injured fish, treat the wound with Nystatin ointment. The ointment adheres to the skin well and promotes healing. To apply, take the fish out of the water and place on a wet towel or cloth. Using blotting or filter paper, dry off the area around the wound and apply Nystatin. Repeat two times daily until new skin forms or the wound closes. Hint: If you keep a fishs eyes covered, he will struggle less during the procedure. • Another wound ointment is Volon-A adhesive ointment. Although it is applied the same way as Nystatin ointment, you can also mix powdered antibiotics, sulfonamides or antifungal agents into it if needed. Mix 95 percent ointment and 5 percent of the additional treatment and apply to the fishs wound.

THEY MURDERED THE CHURCH! LET THE STANDARD THAT EXPOSES THE ENEMY BE RAISED!

    in Religion

In just the first FOUR CENTURIES C.E.,ROME after DESTROYING JERUSALEM when one a MURDEROUS TIRADE, SLAUGHTERING MILLIONS of the BELIEVERS who had CONVERTED unto the MONOTHEIST FAITH of the EARLY CHURCH!    Subsequent that GREAT MURDEROUS TRIBULATION which seemed to subside only when ROME had SILENCED ALL who BELIEVED or would SPEAK to DISCERN the ANCIENT TRUTH, there came the RISE of FALSE PROPHETS teaching DIVERSE FALSE TESTIMONIES, FATALLY FLATTERING MASSES to THIS VERY DAY!  (Mat.24:14-26, 2Thessolonians 2:1-<7-12, Rev.ch.6-7, 13, 18)

The PROTESTANT REFORMATION with all its MULTITUDE of DIVERSE DENOMINATIONS wrought ALSO of MANY PARTIALITIES and POLLUTIONS canNOT be the finished work and expectation wrought of BAPTISM in the HOLY SPIRIT unto PEACE!    Messiah said, "YE ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU DO ALL THAT I HAVE COMMANDED ie. INSTRUCTED! (John 15:14)   The MOST HIGH is NOT the AUTHOR of this CONFUSION!   Purity and completion offers but ONE CHOICE!   The many indiscriminate and seemingly insolveable differences among us are NOT the result of HIS RIGHTEOUS INSTRUCTION!    Collaborations in diverse opinions is NOT the way of PEACE!

For DELIVERANCE SAKE, the SAVIOR comes to RESTORE the FAITH, to DELIVER HIS PEOPLE from the LIES and CONFUSIONS of this present GLOBAL BABYLON!    Though ALL the variant "CAMPS" claim to preach the GOSPEL, the fact of the matter is that ALL the INSTITUTIONS of this EARTH have ALL IGNORED and NEGLECTED the MOST PRECIOUS TRUTHS that were once the BLESSED EXPECTATION of the EARLY CHURCH that the RULERS have long ago SLAUGHTERED and since COUNTERFIETED!    ALL are sons of the adversary who would HIDE and DENY the GREATER ANCIENT EXCEEDING TRUTHS!   There is yet to be RECOVERY!

The Power that Raised Jesus from the Dead

    in Christianity

In today's show, we'll examine Ephesians 1:16 to 23 and talk about the power that raised Jesus from the dead. God has so much in store for our lives. Remember that God will never tell us to be something that we can't be. When God tells us to be something, He automatically supplies us with the ability to be what He tells us to be. Elder Ted Colbert will lead us in this message of encouragement, and then the rest of the team will expound and take questions/calls from the audience. We look forward to having you.

Mama Cruz talks to Annie Hammond from GLSDA about being raised mushing & more!

    in Entertainment

For those outside of the Great Lakes Sled Dog Association (GLSDA) area of membership, I want to take a few mintues to talk about an extraordinary young lady by the name of Annie Hammond. Annie, age 25 and a Michigan native, has been on a dog sled since 1998, and credits her Gradfather for getting her started in the sport. As many are figuring out, I love mushing FAMILIES, and their philosophies in raising their children. From learing compassion and responsibility from an early age on, the foundation to be a great human being is then set. And Annie is a fine example of just that.

She began in 1998 with a small team of Siberians, and began racing the following year, but recreational mushing was still the highlight. By 2008, Annie joined GLSDA to try some larger races, and as she said to me "I got my butt kicked and loved it!" She decided to try the open classes with her first small team of hound crosses and her grandfather kept on with the purebreds, and after three years as a memeber of GLSDA she joined the Board in 2011.

During that time, Annie managed to fit in a Bachelor's from Western MI University with a major in communications and a minor in sports history. So when the opportunity came to her to be Assistant Editor at the United Kennel Club, and more recently Co-Editor at ISDRA's Dog and Driver magaize, it was a perfect fit.

Annie tells me that although she loves to race, one of her biggest sources of joy next to that is making sure others have race weekends that are fun, safe and enjoyable all the way around. I took note of her sacrifices a few years ago at a GLSDA race in Michigan, as she busied herself with everyone else's needs but her own. From filling in as a timer, to trail grooming, managing the entries, she is hands on getting teams to where they need to be, as safely as possible. Exceptional musher, exceptional human being.
