Author D.A. Roberts joins us to discuss his latest novel: Ragnarok Rising: Redemption, the fourth book in the Ragnarok Rising Saga!
In the aftermath of the destruction of the dam, new dangers await the survivors. Not only the constant danger posed by the undead, now they must face the arrival of a new evil. Just as the Einherjar are the chosen ones for the side of the living, the dead have their own champions as well. Champions who will stop at nothing to watch the world plunged into darkness.
Who will stand against them?
To make matters worse, there is something going wrong in the night sky. Whatever is taking place in the heavens above them will forever change the world of the living. Ragnarok is upon the land and nothing will ever be the same. Will the survivors reach safety in time before the next phase of Ragnarok plunges the world into a new ice age?
The Doom of the Gods is upon us.
Ragnarok is Rising.
The Mets 2015 regular season ended on a high note thanks to Curtis Granderson.
The N.L. East champs did not, however, wrap up their final week of play in optimal fashion as fans would have preferred.
On the west coast, the Los Angeles Dodgers took care of business winning 5 of their final 6 games to secure home field advantage through the upcoming NLDS.
The Mets, meanwhile, lost 5 of their last 6 games, as well as their last four home series, posting a 4-8 record in their final 12 games at Citi Field.
The 2nd place Nationals also earned a measure of consolation over the Mets. In a brilliantly dominating performance, Max Scherzer no-hit them in the first game of Saturday's (make-up game) double-header. Washington then completed a sweep in the nightcap.
Some question Terry Collins' strategy and implementation down the stretch, while others point to Yoenis Cespedes' decreased production as potential explanations for the team's recent slide.
The crew at Rising Apple will attempt to make sense of it all.
The omniscient Rich Sparago will host this evening's 119th episode of the Rising Apple Report. He'll be joined by site editor Danny Abriano, senior staff writer Michael Lecolant, and the Converted Mets Fan Sam Maxwell.
Together, they'll review the season that was, and discuss their major concerns as the Mets head into the post-season.
The show starts at 9pm (EST) sharp. As always, you're welcome to call and participate. The number is 646-929-0337.
FULL NOTES AND LINKS, HERE!
The Rising Apple Report turns 104 today as Sam Maxwell and Michael Lecolant bring you the latest AND BEST Mets talk on the internet!
The Mets bounced back after a terrible series in Pittsburgh to sweep the other Penn squad, pushing their record to 27-21. We'll break down the current Mets state, including the recent surge of Wilmer Flores. We'll also discuss the afternoon's trade of Kirk Nieuwenhuis to the Angels for cash considerations.
And we'll break down the players to wear #4 in Mets history, as well as the '04 squad. Yay.
So, make sure to join us at 7 pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
The Rising Apple Report returns at 9pm ET for its 117th episode! Jack Ganchrow will host, with site editor Danny Abriano and staff writers Sam Maxwell and Brian Farrell joining them for all the piping hot 1st place Mets talk!
And 1st place the Mets do still reside in, and how lucky are we that they are only in a position on this offday for that to either change to 7 or 8 up? No matter whether the Mets could blow this, as our anxiety tells us is a potential for them to do, they can't on THIS offday that the Nats are playing, so let's bask in the current glory whilst awaiting the New York Yankees for what will most likely be the most juiced up Subway Series in regular season history.
On top of the current positives and negatives we wil all go over as we head into this weekend's series, we wil also discuss the the players to wear #17 in Mets history, as well as the 1917 Brooklyn Robins and New York Giants seasons.
So, join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
The Rising Apple Report turns 115 at 9pm ET, and though it was a rough weekend, we're still excited to be talking 1st place Mets! Rich Sparago will host, senior writer Mike Lecolant joins, with Faith and Fear in Flushing's Greg Prince as their guest.
The Mets got swept by the Pirates at Citi Field with two well-fought extra-inning games and a 3rd that fell apart after ANOTHER 45-minute rain delay. The Nats continue to implode, getting swept out in San Francisco pretty soundly, letting the Mets maintain their 4.5 game lead. Many questions linger as the Mets head for a 9-game road trip with the O's, the Rockies and the Phillies: What's up with Duda's bat? What's happened to Bobby Parnell? Does the bullpen need to add another arm? Can the offense become more consistent again?
And as always, we'll discuss the players to wear 15 in Mets history, as well as a history lession on the 1915 Federal League season.
So, join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
Welcome to the Night Flight from Phoenix...
The Mets are off today, flying home from Arizona where they gained a series split with the Diamondbacks.
On Tuesday, they begin a series against the defending world champions, San Francisco Giants.
For tonight's 106th episode of the Rising Apple Report, the Converted Met Fan Sam Maxwell and the Brooklyn Trolley Blogger Michael Lecolant will review the Arizona series that was, and preview the upcoming set against the incoming Giants.
They'll additionally analyze the Mets' standing as they enter their 2nd trimester of the season, as well as take a look back at the 2006 season, and players who've worn #6 in Mets history.
As an extra added feature the boys will take a retrospective look at the 1915 New York Giants baseball club, and the Giants overall time spent in upper Manhattan.
Should be a lot if fun.
As always, you're more than welcome to join the conversation. The number to call is 646-929-0337. The show kicks off at 8:00pm ET sharp.

"Stones Rising." Ever wonder how ancient peoples made those megalithic monuments? There's a place just a couple hours' drive from DC, where you can not only see how it was done -- YOU get to do it too! Four Quarters Farm in Pennsylvania is the site of an ongoing project to build a new megalithic Stone Circle, as a place of worship. Sophia Kelly Shultz, one of the church's board members, joins me this morning to talk about how the project got started 20 years ago, and how it benefits the people who participate. (Encore performance.)
