    R.E.Gibson- Phifer is our guest speaker. She will share her story as to how MS shaped her life.


    Television Producer/Director was born and raised in New Jersey. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she double majored in Mass Communications and Theatre Arts. Gibson's career in the entertainment industry began as a music video production manager working for a company in North Philadelphia while still in college. From there, she went on to work for two major record labels, several independent films, theater productions, and television. For ten years she worked as a show/line producer and writer for local news organizations in Miami, New Orleans, Charlotte, West Palm Beach, and Philadelphia, where she was lead producer for WTXF Fox 29's morning show, Good Day Philadelphia. During her employment with WTXF she was instrumental in the morning show's format change and ratings increase. Recent works include the Lawnside Heritage Day Gospel Concert and several theatrical productions. To name a few, ”Freedom Riders”, “Extra Duty” and the musical, “Only Time Will Tell”, which raised money for deserving families during the holiday season. Bringing a fresh realistic approach to all her projects, Gibson prides herself on being innovative and thinks outside of the box.

    The Many Invisible Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis & Mgmt with Dr. Barry Singer

    We bring you our second episode on Multiple Sclerosis this July. Our guest on the show is Dr. Barry Singer. Barry Singer, M.D., a native of St. Louis, practices neurology at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis and is the director of The MS Center for Innovations in Care. He remains in the BJC Medical Group and on staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis where he practiced full-time from 1999 to 2008. Dr. Singer graduated college from Duke University in 1988 and medical school from Columbia University in 1992. His neurology residency was at Cornell-New York Hospital and his two-year multiple sclerosis fellowship was at the National Institutes of Health. He has been an investigator in more than 20 clinical trials focused on new multiple sclerosis treatment options since 1994. He continues to publish in the field of multiple sclerosis and has served as course director for national continuing education programs. As a leader in multiple sclerosis and patient advocate, he has given lectures on MS throughout the U.S. and internationally.


    On the panel are MS survivors and advocates, Bradley Mann, Melissa Cook, Suzanne Robins.

    Multiple Sclerosis & Me; Living after the diagnosis.

    Nakikia aka MSKeepItMoving, is a native of Kinston, North Carolina now living in Durham with her family. She is the Founder and President of 501 c 3 non profit organization K.I.M. (Keep It  Moving) 4U, Inc. and is the host of the organizations Blog talk radio show. She is also employed with the Department of Veteran Affairs as a Certified Medical Support Assistant and Patient Advocate Liaison. 


    On April 4, 2011, Nakikia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her life's motto is "Keep It Moving and she has since dedicated herself to raising awareness, education and providing advocacy and supportive services to the community regarding Multiple Sclerosis and other chronic diseases. She shares her experiences raising children, being a wife and her personal journey living with and managing Multiple Sclerosis and mental illness. She made a choice and she was determined not to let her diagnosis define her or control her life.
