“The Profit” airs TUESDAYS at 10PM ET/PT on CNBC.
“The Profit” follows serial entrepreneur and investor Marcus Lemonis, who puts his own money on the line to help save and grow struggling businesses across the country. When Marcus Lemonis isn’t running his multi-billion dollar company, Camping World, he goes on the hunt for struggling businesses that are desperate for cash and ripe for a deal. In the past 10 years, he’s successfully turned around over 100 companies. Now he’s bringing those skills to CNBC and doing something no one has ever done on TV before … he’s putting millions of dollars of his own money on the line.?
Christians in business or management this is for you.
The parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:24-27, or the equivalent version on the Minas in Luke 19: 12-27, talks about managers who received money to run their boss' business in his absence. Upon his return, he called them to account for their activity and the one who got one (talent / mina) had buried it, and returned it in the exact condition received. The manager who got two, had made a 100% profit of two more; and the manager who got five, also made a 100% profit of five more.
The manager who got one, and returned the one, was berated for being a "lazy, wicked servant", and the one talent he did have, was taken from him and given to the one who had five.
Profit is mandated. Whether you see the word talent as we understand it today, or as money as it is used in the parable, the outcome is the same. God expects his people, his stewards of all He has given us - to earn more with that investment. MORE is the essence of abundance, of profit. We are all uniquely gifted, and those gifts, passions and talents can all be monetized to profitability.
Listen to Inventing Profit hosts Eric Hanscom and Joe Donoghue as they speak to Murray Learmonth, VP of Engineering from Leardon Solutions, an engineering and manufacturing company that helps entrepreneurs and innovators turn their ideas into physical products. Murray describes why he became an engineer and how he has helped inventors get their products to market.
