Join Quincy Saul & Joel Kovel on the Ecosocialist Horizons Hour on the GoPro Radio Network, your frontline report on the struggle for a livable world. This week, we will be interviewing special guest Omar Dahi. Omar is a Syrian economist and political analyst currently teaching at Hampshire College. We will discuss the current social, economic and ecological state of affairs in the Middle East, and how these underlying factors define the current politics of the region, from the Arab Spring to the Libyan Winter and beyond. We will also discuss another area of our guest's expertise - the increasing economic integration of the countries of the global South, and how this is effecting and defining the dynamics of the capitalist world-system in the 21st century

This week, we are speaking with one of the leading poets and writers of our time, Peter Lamborn Wilson. We'll be discussing the convergence of his work with the perspective of Ecosocialist Horizons, with particular attention paid to his hermetic critique of science and the philosophy of place. We will also discuss one of his recent releases, 2011's "Ec(o)logues," and hear news of his work in progress on the Esopus Creek in Ulster County, NY.

This week, we welcome back our comrade Quincy Saul from the road. Mr. Saul was promoting the revolutionary ideas found in the newly released collected writings of political prisoner and Black Liberation activist Russell "Maroon" Shoatz. Despite Maroon's 22 consecutive years in solitary confinement, his heroic fortitude has produced a brilliant theorist, organizer and educator for building a revolutionary strategy for the 21st century rooted in an eco-centric, matriarchal paradigm. Joining us on the phone from Texas will be Rene Valdez, an Austin based organizer who is involved in the campaign to free Russell Maroon Shoatz, and a key coordinator on the book tour for Maroon's volume "Maroon the Implacable. This week, tune in for part two of our discussion with David Schwartzman about the future of "Solar Communism." We will review the critique of the existing energy system and extend this into critiques of the views of Derek Jensen, Richard Heinberg, and the Degrowth Movement. Then we turn to a more detailed discussion of the ecosocialist transition to Solar Communism and show why this must be linked with de-militarization.  Watch us LIVE on UStream (www.gopproradio.com)

Join Joel Kovel & Ben Barson on the Ecosocialist Horizons Hour on the GoPro Radio Network, your frontline report on the global ecological crisis and the struggle for a livable world. This evening Joel Kovel and Ben Barson will take up a problem of the greatest urgency: how to break the back of the fossil fuel industry through the development of renewable alternatives, chiefly by utilization of the endless energy from the Sun. Our guest on the phone from Washington, DC will be the eminent geochemist, David Schwartzman, recently retired from Howard University, and in our view simply the leading authority on this subject--because of his scientific expertise, and especially because he combines this with ecosocialist politics in his doctrine of "Solar Communism." Also active with the DC Greens, David Schwartzman puts the lie to the myth that top-flite science and humanistic values don't mix.

Join Joel Kovel, Quincy Saul, and S.P. Rieland for the Ecosocialist Horizons Hour on the GoPro Radio Network, your frontline report on the global ecological crisis and the struggle for a livable world. This week we will be hosting our comrade Abraham Mwaura, who has flown in from Chicago to join us on the show and to help organize our upcoming ecosocialist convergence this weekend in Troy, New York.  Abe has worked as an organizer in movements for social and environmental justice for decades. His work has taken him from the front lines of the struggle against mountaintop removal in Appalachia to the heart of the nation's logistics industry in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently he has joined in the work of Ecosocialist Horizons to build a politically independent movement with a global platform and bolster the revolution with a prophetic vision for climate justice.
