Pope Francis and members of congress are narcissists

    in Music

I call the ability to hear both oneself and others bilateral (2-sided) listening.  Narcissistic listening is one-way, listening to myself only, listening.    When differences arise, folks who do bilateral listening are pros at taking into consideration both their concerns and others'.  This bilateral listening ability enables them to routinely seek and create win-win solutions, which in turn sustains their relationships with on-going goodwill.  For instance, if you are tired, you would listen to that feeling and head for bed.  At the same time if you have just received a call from a friend who has a problem and urgently wants to talk with you, you might suggest that the two of you talk for a few minutes now, and aim to talk more at length in the morning.  Or with a more gentle, "Yes I hear that you want to talkbut I'm just too tired.  In the latter case you seemed to be hearing your friend's request, and then your but minimized, dismissed and discarded the data about the friend's need.   Narcissistic folks can be generous.  Narcissistic folks actually are often very generous.  They may, for instance, give away large sums of money to charity.  Generous giving makes the giver feel good and also feels appropriate, like "the right" thing to do.  They may well therefore pride themselves on their compassion and altruism. Often too, selfish-takeover ignites tendency to war

    St. Benedict The Moor

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

Benedict the Moor was born a slave near Messina, Italy. He was freed by his master, became a solitary, eventually settling with other hermits at Montepellegrino. He was made superior of the community, but when he was about thirty-eight, Pope Pius IV disbanded communities of solitaries and he became a Franciscan lay brother. He cooked at St. Mary's convent near Palermo. He was appointed against his will, superior of the convent when it opted for the reform, though he could neither read nor write. After serving as superior, he became a novice master but asked to be relieved of his post and returned to his former position as cook. His holiness, reputation for miracles, and his fame as a confessor brought hordes of visitors to see the obscure and humble cook. He died at the convent, was canonized in 1807, and is the patron saint of blacks in the United States. The surname "the Moor" is a misnomer originating from the Italian IL MORO (the black.) His feast day is April 4th.

Pope Francis Declares Atheists Will Go to Heaven and Other News of the Day

    in Christianity

In a very troubling article, but not all that surprising given the liberal and unbiblical teachings of the Pope of the Catholic church, we are now seeing that Pope Francis is offering assurance to atheists and others who reject Jesus as their Lord and Savior and declaring that they will be allowed into heaven.  This is more current evidence of the end times apostacy that is taking place in the world.

Whereas genuine Christian converts are being tortured and beheaded all over the world, the false prophet of the Catholic Church is spitting on the sacrifice of Christ by dismissing it all together.

Golden Calf Christians, the Pope & the Strong End-Time Delusion

    in Christianity

Join PROPHECY QUAKE tonight LIVE @8:00 PM CST as we look at what it means to be a golden calf-worshipping Christian in these last days. The idols of big buildings, financial/numerical success, and false doctrines of men that cater to the flesh have blinded the vast majority of Christians to many Biblical truths. These idols have also kept many Christians from being able to discern seducing spirits in the world that are leading us into Satan's final solution for mankind. We are headed for everything the Bible foretold about the Great Tribulation and Antichrist's war against the saints. The false prophet Pope Francis along with almost all the mega-church and big traditional churches and NASA are working with Satan to deceive the entire world. It is time to break free from ALL of Satan's lies and prepare to be a true light for Jesus Christ to those around us. To listen by phone, call 347-884-8566.

Long Road to Ruin: The Hobbit Trilogy

    in Movies

Andrew Graham rejoins Sean Comer and Mark Radulich as they review Peter Jackson's second trip to Middle Earth, The Hobbit.  Since BTR cut off our show 2 weeks ago, we'll spend a few minutes concluding our discussion of Return of the King.  After that we'll dive right into all the pre-production issues that plagued the Hobbit Trilogy.  We'll talk about the special editions and debate whether Jackson should have tried to keep it to 2 movies

The Hobbit is a film series consisting of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. They are based on the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with large portions of the trilogy inspired by the appendices to The Return of the King, which expand on the story told in The Hobbit, as well as new material and characters written especially for the films. The films are subtitled An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).
