Much has been said in recent years regarding "character". It is true that we need to have character before the Lord and those that we come in contact with, but what does that mean.
The Lord has allowed me to make some observations and has given me some direction in this matter. Join me today and let's take a look at this important subject.

Join me for my next episode. I have a consistent format, where I open with a scripture reading (picking it up from Proverbs, where I left off last episode), and then I tackle the Qs under 3 headings: 1) What might be your issue, in light of life and God's truth; 2) What might be your friend's issue?; 3) What to do? Then I close in prayer.
So what 'Q' do I tackle? The one you send me about that person or issue that you want to help? (that 'person' might be you, or someone else!:))
Send me your Q!

SHOW NOTES: In our HELP! SITUATION SPOTLIGHT™ series, we shine the light on challenges that community members have shared. This episode is, “ I Was Taught That I Have to Be Twice As Good As Them…and I Am Exhausted."
This is an episode that I feel very strongly about! The central question is who is in charge of your life? Is it you? Or, someone or something else? If you are in charge of your life then you define your goals, your value and your experiences. If you accede that power over your life to other people or entities then they will define your goals, your value and your experiences.
How much money should you make per year? What type of neighborhood should you live in? Either you will decide or someone (or something) else will decide. When do you decide that you have done your best (versus when you have more to give)? What is ‘good enough’ and what constitutes success?
When you choose to let other people or entities make these decisions they will have their own ideas of how much money you will earn (especially as it relates to how much money they earn), where you will live (by determining how much you will be able to spend on housing as part of your salary) and everything else in your life. If you elect to exercise your own personal power over your life, then you decide. Are you qualified for a job? You decide. How much money will you earn this year? You decide. What type of neighborhood will you live in? You decide.
What if you are operating under the understanding that everything you do is weighed down by some aspects of who you are? That you are running the race of life with heavy weights around your ankles that slow you down? That the weights make you have to run twice as fast as other people (those
Paul, Paul Paul, get to work. You are too confused man. You are a congressman. Not clergy! Not a career counselor. They don't get paid like you do, you know. When a congressman is doing his job, do you thing it includes helping constituents, fellow citizens, to realize their potentional? When a congressman is elected to office there is much he can do to help improve the lives of citizens for the greater good. But telling adults how to live up to their potentional is not in your job description. What you hsould tackle for the greater good should be in the form of passing laws or assuring laws are not being abused. Your actions should be to assure the greater good of society is not put in jeopardy by way of air, land, waters and travel, inside and outside our borders. Your actions should be to assure conglomerates are not using their financial power to oppress society. So someone please Congressman Paul Ryan, explain how you think its your job to help "them" realize their potential? You are not hired as clergy, nor a career counselor. So why would you see a need to discuss how you will help "them" realize their potential. This is the kind of talk you should have with your own offspring.
Paul Ryan, you are not paid $174K yearly, to speak about nor to speak to adult citizens, (some of which was working when you came into the world) in a talk down manner as if you know more than most folks do. Your job is not to help "them" live up to their potential. Pass the infrastructure bill, and that will create jobs. Grown men and women know how to go ask for a job. They know how to work to earn a paycheck. They in turn may continue to pay you. Just for the record. Tax dollars do pay for career counselors for American citizens who are seeking employment.
Scripture Text : Luke 19: 1-27
Key Verses : Luke 19: 1-6
And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
And, behold, there was a man name Zaccheus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
And when Jesus came to the place. he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zaccheus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house.
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
