This show will provide you with website resources for bladder, bowel, and pelvic pain conditions. Patients frequently ask for reputable resources so I thought it would be helpful to create a show with a comprehensive list. This is not all-inclusive but would be a good starting point if you are looking for resources and/or support.
Pelvic floor health is certainly not something women talk about during happy hour or over lunch. Occasional giggly references to ‘don’t make me laugh (I’ll pee!)’ or kegel exercises is about all that takes place when talking about this important aspect of a woman’s health.
However, the fact that this conversation can be awkward shouldn’t diminish its importance. Do you realize that in addition to controlling our urine, helping us to have babies, our pelvic floor also holds up our guts? There is much to learn about having a healthy pelvic floor – what it is and how to care for it. Join us to hear more.

Dr. Kutch’s work focuses on revealing neural mechanisms of pelvic floor muscle control, engineering non-invasive systems to study human motor function, and better understanding neuromuscular disorders. He is a co-investigator in the NIH-funded Multidisciplinary Approach to the Study of Chronic Pelvic Pain (MAPP) Research Network, with a particular focus on understanding brain network mechanisms of altered pelvic floor muscle control in individuals with chronic pelvic pain.
Today’s episode will hopefully help to answer some of the common questions that patients have regarding pelvic floor physical therapy. Many do not know that this specialty area of physical therapy even exists, much less what all it entails. I will be discussing the basics of what to expect from a typical pelvic floor evaluation and treatment, how to go about locating a pelvic floor physical therapist and questions to ask them to ensure they are a good fit for your condition, as well as some common questions that many patients have on their first visit.

Dr. Sandra Bevacqua, a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, has worked as a research scientist at both the university and government levels. She has lectured as a scientist throughout the Americas, Canada, Europe, and Japan for medical professionals and has led hundreds of lectures and teleconferences for the public since 1986. Her work includes the completion of numerous publications for the University of Arizona Cancer Center, Temple University Center for Thrombotic Disorders and Los Alamos National Laboratory. She works closely with each client to create an individualized program which meets their specific needs and uses a natural approach to gently bring the body back into balance.
Most recently, Dr. Bevacqua has focused on developing educational programs in the field of Holistic Women’s Health. Carol Pirika shares her story of personal recovery from huge physical and mental challenges through physical therapy and attention to the mind –body-spirit connection. Carol suffered major surgery at the age of 24 and as a young woman had to face the possibility of being unable to have children. She overcame that with inspiration and learning from teachers in the physical therapy and fitness world, who helped with whiplash rehabilitation from a car accident and consequent adrenal fatigue. She faced a further challenge to recover use and strength of her pelvic floor after an episiotomy with her first child and became passionate and determined to assist women to help and heal their own bodies.
Her personal journey took her into a career as a top level personal trainer, motivated to gather specialist tools and knowledge to help women recover from post-natal and post hysterectomy challenges. Carol now has two beautiful children, a great level of fitness and a very positive attitude to overcoming physical challenges!
Carol, (who runs Bump Post Natal and Pregnancy classes) shares her training philosophies, practical ideas and inspiration to raise your spirits - from the bottom up! If you’ve ever experienced post-natal sadness or loss of physicality from ‘women’s problems’ you will be inspired with practical information from a personal journey shared.

If you're grown, you should be real about where you are and what you REALLY want...Right??? Well not so, I'm finding that there is an unecessarily large population of MEN & Women who are dangerously playing with peoples Hearts, Money, Time, Defaming Characters, etc.
During our 2nd Hour, we will be discussing Men's Health & Erectile Dysfunction. We can’t have Black History without addressing who and what we have become. African American People suffer with a myriad of Health Issues. Our Health/Wellness and the lack there of is a leading source to the level of happiness and self fulfillment we’re able to achieve. Without good health and the ability to enjoy certain aspects of life (i.e. Your Relationship with your Spouse/Lover/Partner) is very important. We live in a microwave society where everything is expected to happen not now but right now. Including, intimacy & Sex. What happens when you have a partner that cannot satisfy you due to Erectile Dysfunction? Well, let’s talk about it tonight on The BriLife Radio Show.
