"Pudding Pops, Pedophiles, and Pimpin'"
"Is Bill Cosby a sexual predator who's being exposed, or a black man with power who's being attacked? how many sexual assault victims go unreported and unheard of in our commuity? How many innocent black men get accused of child molestation and rape? And have we made all of this worse through our cultural justifications of and pandering? We'll discuss it all on Sunday--in The Barbershop!"

Barbados, an island in the Caribbean, where there is RAMPANT incest and pedophiles. Young people are growing up into promiscuous adults (extremely large amount of lesbians/homosexuals and cheating within relationships). Let us speak about the affects of sex abuse (or any type of abuse on small children). It is a serious area of concern, not only for Barbados, but the Caribbean.

Tonight's special guest is Deborah Dooley from Denver, Colorado, a NAASCA family member who's making her first appearance as a special guest on our show. "The support of the unity of your organization has already impacted me," she told us some time ago. "I already felt great about even making contact with you and knowing what you are doing that it gave me a refreshed hope about my own journey of healing." Deborah's a proud member of the Christian community, but also wrote me that she recognized the benefit of using a 12 step "design for living" for child abuse recovery, saying, "Many times, I have thought about how valuable it would be to have a 12 step program for abuse issues that could translate to help all people since the 12 step is so effective in its use." A 12 step program encourages belief in a Power greater than oneself, of course, but allows for a God as you understand Him. She said, "I, personally, hope to go through this 12 step program that you have developed" (please see www.ASCA12step.org). Deborah was born in Hawaii but lives in Denver now, and tells us she's the proud mother of a daughter who unfortunately ended her life in July 2013 after a long series of very traumatic circumstances. "My life up until her death was focused on getting her safe from abuse by her dad since the courts don't protect kids from this," she says, "and there's no place to turn for help at this point to protect your child. I am now working on what is the best and most expedient solution for the courts." She believes that these kinds of preventable tragedies can be stopped from happening to children and families. Deborah hopes to work toward making our country be more loving towards its children.
There is overwhelming number of pastors being arrested, exposed and imprisoned because of the crime of pedophilia. Almost exclusively male, these men are exploiting our young people while the men in the congregation sit idly by with little or no objection. Why do we keep hiring these monsters to prey over our kids? Who is doing the background checks?
Can they be redeemed? Yes. Can they preach or teach? NO!
We are going to discuss this pervasive problem in the BOC and see "hear" what the Word of God says we should do to eliminate this problem!

Gratitude Night !! On this Thanksgiving evening, we'll pause to give expressions of our gratitude for our recovery from child abuse and trauma, and express our desire that we can be effective in our mission .. (1) to educate the public to stop the silence and (2) to offer hope and help to the still suffering adult survivor of child abuse. Wearing a Blue Ribbon is the symbol of Child Abuse Awareness! Millions of abuse victims (men and women) hide the story of their experience well into adulthood. A huge number continue to suffer from pain, anger, fear, shame and embarrassment for decades. Most will agree their traumas have resulted in an inability to trust, make good decisions and have healthy relationships. But giving up the secret is often how recovery begins, one survivor talking to another. Join Bill Murray and his co-hosts, panelists and guests, many of them abuse survivors, others supporters and friends, for an informed discussion of the many important issues that surround child abuse. Anonymous calls and chat room participation are encouraged. ~~ Please see our web site at: www.NAASCA.org

Tonight's special guest is Barbara Ochoa from San Francisco, a returning NAASCA family member who's Executive Director at Help4Guys.org. Barbara's here once again to talk about the events that are planned in celebration of "Male Abuse Awareness Week" (MAAW) which is held each year during the first week of December. MAAW is an awareness campaign that was started by the P. Luna Foundation in 2008, and the website is an extension of that program. The main focus is to change the negative social stigma that goes along with the topic of males who are victims of sexual or emotional abuse and domestic violence. "Most abused males avoid therapy and treatment because they are too ashamed or afraid of being judged for doing so," according to the web site. "By bringing the subject to light once a year we hope to make this topic more socially acceptable and in return more men will feel comfortable enough to seek the help they desperately need but in many cases avoid." Since the awareness campaign's inception in 2008 we at NAASCA have been pleased to participate hand-in-hand with Barbara Ochoa, and Bill Murray has appeared at several of the live events. We too want to help men who were victims of past abuse break their silence, in order to inspire younger men into getting treatment. Like Barbara, we have seen more and more celebrities come forward and many more news stories reporting on males who are victims of abuse.

Tonight's special guest is Debra Monk from Enfield, New Hampshire, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse from multiple perpetrators over several years throughout her early childhood and into her early teens. She's now become an anti-abuse advocate who's now writing a series of children's books addressing a topic that's close to her heart. "Most of my abusers were direct or close family members," Debra says. She explains the new book series for children touches on the tough but important topic of family violence and abuse, and what that might look like through the eyes and perspective of a child. That's because Debra eventually came to understand that there was a systematic cycle of abuse within her family that had already been going on for many generations. "I'll address family violence, such as domestic and intimate partner violence, sibling abuse, sexual abuse, incest, neglect and physical abuse. Abuse and malnourishment can create patterns and characteristics that when, if not dealt with appropriately may cause repeated cycles or systems of family violence and abuse to occur later on and well into their adulthood lives." Debra's published before. Her work "A Journey of Poetry from an Adult Survivor of Sexual Abuse" is available as an e-book and author Caroline De Chavigny included Debra's missive in her book, "Letter to a Monster." Debra says her mission and goal is to create positive change that reduces the risk for violence in already broken and volatile homes.

Tonight's special guest is Angelique Anderson from Stockton, California, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and activist who's currently writing a short story series called "Little Lost Girl." The first book, "Separation," has been released and book 2, "Home is where the heart is," is releasing this week. It'll shortly be followed by the final book in the trilogy, "Reunited." Angelique plans to include NAASCA info in her books, explaining, "My short story series is a fiction series based on my life. Which is why I wanted to use the resources you have available!" Angelique's an advocate for those who have been abused, and for former foster children. She grew up in dire and tumultuous conditions, bouncing back and forth between her parents, family members and foster care homes, and was abused in many ways. Angelique lived in numerous states all across the American West. All through her childhood she was alternately neglected, assaulted, beaten, treated like a slave, abandoned and left to her own devices. At 18 she was living hand to mouth when she moved in with her boyfriend. They've been together ever since. "I am very happily married to the most amazing, God-fearing man who has stood by me through the healing process and ups and downs that come with that," Angelique says. "We have four amazing kids, and I know looking back that my husband has been God’s tangible hand of love in my life."
