Azim Khamisa – an author, activist and an international inspirational speaker – was born in Kenya, Africa and had early training in mathematics, economics and finance in the U.K. A successful investment banker with over 40 years of experience, he has conducted business in Africa, Middle East, Canada, USA, Europe and Asia. Presently he serves as the President of the Child Safety Network (CSN). Committing his life to halting the continuing cycle of violence among the youth, Azim became a social activist after his 20-year-old son Tariq was senselessly murdered while delivering pizzas in January 1995 by Tony Hicks, a 14-year-old gang member. Out of grief and despair, Khamisa was inspired to transform his loss through the power of forgiveness. Believing that there were “victims at both ends of the gun,” Azim forgave Tony and founded the Tariq Khamisa Foundation to break the cycle of youth violence by saving lives, empowering positive choices and teaching the principles of nonviolence and peacemaking. A month after establishing the foundation, Azim invited Ples Felix, Tony’s grandfather and guardian, to join him. Together, since November 1995, the two have brought their story and message through TKF’s Violence Impact Assemblies. The duo has reached over a million elementary and middle school children live and over 8 million via video programs, guiding the youth to choose a peacemaker’s life of non-violence and forgiveness.

Sutree hosts a panel discussion with Karen Keeney, Erin Donley and Carole Marie Downing on the importance of Conscious Evolution for ourselves, our families and community and our global community.
Conscious evolution refers to humanity’s new ability to choose what the species Homo Sapiens becomes in the future. It provides a larger perspective of our human potentials. We can consciously participate in our own evolution
The whole woman, the universal woman, the evolutionary woman, the feminine co-creator is now vital to the survival and evolution of our whole species.

Sue Gilmore, author, activist, business woman and church worker graduated from Bible College in the early 1980’s with a degree in Biblical Studies. Her original intent had been to follow her schooling with a career in full time Christian work, but she soon realized that her sexual orientation would not allow her to pursue her life-long goals. Being true to herself and her sexual identity she chose instead to pursue a business career in Real Estate.
Starting at an entry level position gave her the background and foundation she needed for success. From the beginning of her career Sue soon found that her newly chosen path suited her God given talents and proved to be rewarding and satisfying. Now almost thirty years later she is the Vice President and Regional Manager for one of the largest Title Insurance companies in the nation.
Sue’s journey to sexual awareness and finally to peace with herself is intermixed with her life and career. God has always been the central focus of her life even if she was not allowed by the Church to serve Him in a full time capacity. Sue felt called to author The Peace Seeker as an attempt to bring awareness to the public of the misinterpretation and prejudice found within the Christian church surrounding the subject of homosexuality. Her book asks those who equate being gay as sin to reconsider their beliefs. Sue is a strong advocate of those who are Christian and Gay and have been ostracized from their family of faith.

"...But He waw wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquitries; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed..." Is. 53:5
What is the chasitement for our peace? Have you ever reallly taken the time to reflect upon the meaning of the part in Isaiah 53:5..."the chaisement for our peace was upon Him..." Let's take a moment in the word to learn some of the depth of that statement, one that we often quote
We all need to know that there is purpose to this life, and a genuine hope even when all seems to have fallen apart. There are some that God has called to minister to the inner hurts of those who others have pushed aside and left to become "marginal people". Marginal people are those who feel shut-out and abused by the very family (community) called to nurture them. These are the very people that Jesus ministered to during His journey. When gathering at The Well you will discover that God has a plan and sees His creation (you and I) with hope and promise. Therefore, like the woman at the well, come and take the opportunity to drink from the well (the word of God) that never runs dry and will quench spiritual thirst...and you shall be healed and delivered. http://gatheringatthewell.isteaching.com/
Maria began a professional modeling career at the uncommon age of twenty-one in the early eighties—when black faces were rarely seen in magazines. Having a keen eye for talent and with the help of mentors, she became known as one of New York’s premiere promoters. Maria created the legendary M.A.D. Wednesday’s music showcases which continues to provide venues for signed and unsigned R&B and hip-hop artists and comedians who had no other performance options In 1995 Maria’s life took a turn when she contracted the HIV virus unknowingly from her soon-to-be-husband. Along with keeping her M.A.D. Wednesday showcases going strong, Maria dedicates her life as an HIV/AID’s activist. She regularly speaks to educators, health care providers, ministers and social workers regarding HIV/AIDS awareness and sensitivity including being the key note speaker for the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS. Jesse interviews Marc Daniels – founder of Weed Out Hate. He is taking his grandfather’s vision of nurturing trees and shrubs which connection home owners to nature, to the next level; intending to better connect future generations of gardeners, and kindergartners with nature for the higher purpose of improving the fabric of society. Weed Out Hate removes the obstacles that prevent us from feeling and drawing upon the strong roots that we already have; and assists in enriching and stimulating our education roots. Marc says that it empowers even the smallest child to condition his future self as well as the future garden through learning to remove acculturated prejudice. He has spent 30 years of his professional life working with the green industry; and the past 5 years focused on researching the spiritual, cultural, and ecological roots of global gardening trends; and feels it is time to sow the seeds of inspiration and wisdom. We look at Marc’s Weed Out Hate organization, Peace Seeds, and Selma. You can learn more about his work at www.weedouthate.org
