SORT BY Relevancy
In our previous episode, the Write Pack explored the Necessary Villain. Now, we explore how to avoid an easy trap many beginning—and even some veteran writers fall into—the boring hero. Heroes who seem able to conquer any villain, face the darkest elements of man and not bat an eye may have been the stable of fiction centuries ago, but now they are a sure cure for insomnia. What makes the hero of a story . . . a real yawn stimulator? Are there common traits?
Can you rehabilitate a boring hero? Is there a way to make the Superman hero in your story cry and bleed? Must they bleed? Why can’t they just get the treasure and be happy?
What must you do to make the Hero necessary to the story? Or is the hero nothing more than a literary version of the zombie ant?

Paladins finally received some love in the latest beta build for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm. Joining Kat and Esh to talk about these changes will be Asros (who appeared on our Evolution of the Raid episode). Asros' guildmate Valkyrierisen may also be joining us.
BOUND BY DARKNESS
Caught between two worlds, a powerful warrior must choose between impossible destinies when he meets a woman whose love will either make or break him. . . .
Originally from St. Louis, Alexis Morgan and her husband live in a small town near Seattle. An avid reader, she grew up reading gothic romances and westerns and developed a love for flawed heroes who hold to their own code of honor--whether fighting rustlers at gunpoint, or standing shoulder-to-shoulder with their fellow warriors, swords at the ready.
Come talk with Alexis tonight & discuss the newest edition to her Paladins series. If you think it this series couldn't possibly get much hotter, you're wrong!
Widowed with two small children, Riley Tyson is devastated when her husband
Bradley is murdered. She doesn’t miss his fiery temper and heartless philandering,
though. In fact, now that he’s dead, their relationship is better than ever. Bradley’s
spirit sneaks into her bedroom at night, tempting her with gentle, seductive
caresses and showering her with the attention he never gave her in life. It seems
too crazy to be true. Until he drags her unsuspecting soul into a world so evil even
Lucifer won’t go near it. . . .
Enter Malik Davenport, Riley’s boss and longtime friend. At six foot seven, with
smooth, almond-colored skin and vibrant blue eyes, Malik rarely goes unnoticed. An
ancient warrior prince who specializes in slaying demons, he’s the only man who
can save Riley’s life—and the only one whose passionate touch unleashes the sexy
vixen inside her.
As Bradley’s ruthless spirit orchestrates a deadly power surge against the living,
Malik and his team of paladins prepare for a war of the worlds that has been
brewing for ages. If they win, Malik and Riley can be together forever, but if they lose,
the fate of humanity hangs in the balance

The Wizard (from Kerr's blog): "In 1977 I was sworn in as a peace officer in Vancouver. When I eventually came out about my Wiccan beliefs, being the first Wiccan cop to do so, I spent the next three decades of my law enforcement career battling prejudice, gossip, surviving the “Wicca File”, and ending up a detective and an expert in hate crimes against minority religions. This is my story, which will soon be available from Dark Moon Press."
Witch Hunts (from Kerr's blog): "My book Witch Hunts went out of print some time ago when the publisher went out of business. Dark Moon Press has just republished this book, which you can purchase here. In this book I share decades of research into the myths and misinformation that has spread around the various communities about paganism in its various forms, from Satanism to Wicca."
