PWN 2015.2.3: Pagan News from Around the Globe

    in News

KaliSara and RevKess tend to focus on North America and Western Europe during PWN. Understandable, as they live in the Midwest of the United States. This week they will broaden their discussion of current events and news to encompass much of the global Pagan community. News from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South America and of course from North America will be touched upon.

Due to a scheduling conflict, this week's edition is on Wednesday instead of Thursday. The hosts will try to share any other scheduling issues during broadcast, but will continue to post updates in show descriptions for those who prefer to listen live.

PWN 2015.1.3: Controversy in the Pagan World

    in News

As event season gets ready to kick off for the Pagan community there are any number of minor controversies that might crop up. In the passed there have been issues regarding gender in sacred space, certain notable presenters and their pasts, and other issues - both minor and major. This year seems to be no exception to that. With Covenant of the Goddess facing member resignations and turmoil over their public statement regarding racial issues and a first time out festival in direct conflict with a well established festival - in both timing and geographic location - there seems to be now shortage of controversies to address this year.

RevKess and KaliSara will talk about some of those current issues and how they may play out in the near future. From Peter Dybing's strong stand on racial inclusivity in practice and language in regards to CoG to the Gathering of Pagan Souls festival being in direct conflict with Heartland Spirit Festival at the end of May. Along the way they may also address some of the past issues that have come in the Pagan world and how they were addressed and handled by those who could make a difference. They will also talk about other upcoming events in the Pagan world, including ConVocation and PantheaCon.

PMP: Sharon Knight - Music & Magic: Making a Music Video & Other Pagan Projects

    in Spirituality

Join us as we talk about some of the various projects going on in the Pagan community, from music to videos, from books to movies. We'll give some details about where projects are at and what's been happening.

Sharon will be joining RevKess and Kalisara for the second hour, Live from Pantheacon!, to talk about the details of her own album and music video project, Portals. From her FB Event Page: "Winter and I are embarking on our most ambitious project yet, which will draw on the talents of an entire community of musicians, filmmakers, and artists. We are creating a fully produced album AND music video. This is a real stretch for us, and we considered making the video a stretch goal. However, the video really is core to the project, and the reason we decided to do a crowd funding campaign."

Hieronymus Bosch vs. The Spanish Inquisition

    in Radio

On Thursday February February 12th, 2015 the Hermetic Hour with host
Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the late medieval Dutch
surrealist painter Hieronymus Bosch whose remarkable works have not yet
become the secret code behind a Dan Brown novel (hint Bro. Dan) but
would certainly provide a great background for such a story. His most
famous work "The Garden of Earthly Delights" is a phantasmagoria a of
bizarre and nightmarish symbolism. Which scholars relate to the Gonostic
sect of the Adamites -- a cult of mystic nudists who were trying to
recreate the Garden of Eden. Super Catholic Spain had taken over the
Netherlands in those days and the Inquisition was burning the Dutch
Adamites as fast as Bosch could paint them but the King of Spain was
Bosch's biggest fan, which probably kept Bosch alive. So you can look at
some great Bosch graphics on your computer while you listen to us
recount the tale of the Devil's painter.

    in Spirituality

You've heard KaliSara and RevKess talk about it for weeks, even months. The ABC Book of Goddesses is now available. Selina Wolfcat will be joining RevKess and special guest host Kyrja to talk about the book and the process of creating this wonderful children's book. From concept to press, the journey has been a long one - but well worth it. Selina created the book with the help of illustrator Ann Tendler. Kyrja is the author of Rupert's Tales and organizes children's and environmental events in Florida. Kyrja, RevKess and Selina also expect to be joined by Rayne Storm, author of Elmental Tarot for Kids, and Ancient Amber, author of the Sunchildren series.

They'll hop along from topic to topic with no real sense of where they are going - or will they? Tune in and find out just how coherent a show they can create the fly. Will they talk spring cleaning? new music? rambling on about crystal weenies and fluffy bunnies? It is anyone's guess - even their's - until it happens.
