Radio provided another possible programming model. As we mentioned before many early TV shows were in fact based on radio programs, some of which were even simulcast for years on both media. Back when radio was king, the jump from sound to sight was pretty common both in America and the UK.
Join Young Media Critics Host, Juanita Richburg Seon and her young associate, Erika Shoemaker as they talk about the early radio shows that "jumped from radio to television - from "sound to sight"

The NFL Players Association received the official letter from the league confirming Ray Rice's indefinite suspension, according to ESPN.
This letter outlines the league's rationale for its decision to change Rice's original two-game suspension to the current one in the wake of the video release by TMZ on Monday showing Rice striking his then-fiancee Janay Palmer and knocking her unconscious in the elevator of the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
The league's official explanation to the Players Association about Rice's indefinite suspension offers another important detail in trying to determine how much the NFL and the Ravens knew about what happened in February and how the full video of the assault figured into their decision.
We all have seen the tape, we all have heard the spin and formulated opinions one way or the other; now it is YOUR turn to voice your opinion and have it HEARD. Roger Goodell, Steve Biscotti, Ray Rice, John Harbaugh & yes, even Ozzie Newsome are all guilty of missteps in this whole affair and we want to discuss it. Join us to hear, listen, call in and discuss this fall out and even some Ravens and football talk as well.

New Yorkers are so excited for the Broadway musical, "On The Town" opening this fall at The Lyric Theater in the heart of Times Square. Host Robin Milling was treated to a sneak peek performance for the press by the multi-talented cast of dancers, singers and actors who are bringing this show back to the Great White Way bigger and better than ever.
Featuring direction by John Rando and choreography by Josh Bergasse, On the Town is a classic that never goes out of style with music by Leonard Bernstein, book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Based on Jerome Robbins' idea for his 1944 ballet Fancy Free, which he had set to Bernstein's music; it's a story about three sailors on 24 hour leave in New York who are swept away by all the city has to offer, set to dance. Robin chats with Rando and Bergasse about their indelible mark on this quintessential classic.
The show's principal cast featuring Tony Yazbeck as Gabey, Jay Armstrong as Chip, Clyde Alves as Ozzie, Elizabeth Stanley as Claire DeLoon, Jackie Hoffman as Madam Dilly, and Alysha Umphress as Hildy share their stories of coming to New York for the first time, bonding with each other as a family, and why On The Town is still so prevalent for everyone to enjoy 70 years later. It's a helluva show!
