While conventional medicine tends to be focus on the part or the symptom, Oriental Medicine is holistic, it approaches body, mind and spirit as a whole. OM doctors are not focused on the symptom and look for the root-cause of illness.

This week we're talking once again to Canadian author, artist, and martial arts expert, Stefan Verstappen. Stefan has a professional background in communications and business management and has travelled extensively throughout East Asia, where he has studied oriental art, culture and Kung Fu.
Stefan is the author of 'The art of urban survival' from which the viral YouTube video documentary 'Defense Against the Psychopath' was taken.
We previously spoke to Stefan about the video he produced on the topic of historical cycles of human civilization and the manner in which they appear to repeat. In his video, Stefan makes the case that we are currently in the final stage of our cycle of history, defined, like all others, by widespread chaos. Historically, only small groups of people survived the periods of destruction that defined the end of a cycle, and they did so by forming themselves into tight-knit communities with specific organizational structures.
More recently Stefan has produced 3 more short videos on the theme of "Paradise Stolen" where he explores the specific reasons for our current state of societal chaos, the alternatives to the way we live today, and what we can do to face the future and survive.
Join us this Sunday May 3rd 2015 from 2-4pm EST (8-10pm CET) as we discuss the state of the world, how it got that way, and what we can all do about it.
“The Oriental philosophies teach that man has many faculties which are at present in a dormant state, but which will become unfolded as the race progresses. They also teach that man, by the proper effort of the will, aided by favorable conditions, may aid in the unfoldment of these spiritual faculties, and develop them much sooner than in the ordinary process of evolution. In other words, one may even now develop spiritual powers of consciousness which will not become the common property of the race until after long ages of gradual development under the law of evolution.”
Christopher Ging is an Oriental Medical Doctor (OMD) who graduated in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) integrated with Western Medicine from School of Medicine of Xiamen University and earned his Ph.D. from China Academy of Chinese Medical Science, Beijing, China. He also has his MBA from TCU.
He is a licensed acupuncturist (L. Ac.) in the state of Texas and certifi ed with the National Commission of Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is a founder of Texas Acupuncture Practice. He is a noted researcher in Chinese herbs as well as a popular speaker on health issues, viewed from the unique context of Bioenergetic and Integrative Medicine.
He has researched and developed a unique line of Traditional Chinese herbal formulas to help relieve the chronic health issues such as oral health problems, drug withdrawal syndromes, chronic fatigue, autoimmune response, parasitic/yeast/fungal/viral infection, weight control, sleep disorder and etc.
The focus during a consultation with Christopher Ging goes beyond the Western allopathic model that is satisfied with a sub-clinical limbo of chronic malaise.
