"It is beginning to dawn on us at this perilous moment that moving to a new level of consciousness is NOT an optional extra but an imperative if we are to survive as a species and safeguard the life of our planet." Dream of the Cosmos by Anne Baring
LivingEden and other shows like it are showing us the way as each step co-creates Eden on earth. This week we will be exploring the spirituality of the rainforests. One book I discovered, " Wisdom From the Rainforest", is an account of a rainforest forest society, the Teduray, written by an Episcopal priest who became a social anthropologist after a stint of missionary work in the Phillipines. The exploration raises important questions about the fundamental principals of how WE live. The Teduray are a nonviolent society, and to learn how different their underlying guiding principles are from our own is both interesting and humbling. One reader commented, " I never saw a better manual for how to live this way than Wisdom from a Rain Forest." I found that aboriginal societies and tribes living in the rainforests all have common guiding principles living a spirituality of non-competition, peace, cooperation, egalitarian, and truly democratic. They also live in harmony with the earth.
Food, timber, raw materials, grazing and gardening land, and medicines are all products of the rainforests which support our life on the planet and rainforests create great biodiversity necessary for us and our planet to survive. We'll explore the spiritual connection with all of these on the show. Please find pictures of the rainforests to look at while on the show. Listen to rainforest CD's. We love you so please, email questions, suggestions, experiences to firstname.lastname@example.org
Punk is dead, Long live Punk!
In the late 70's there was a fan backlash against the mega bands, they had become untouchable and unaproachable. Punk was the way out of the Rock Opera world. I have to admit that most of it was pretty darn awful. All a band needed was a couple of electric guitars, a drum set and an Amp. The ability to play the instruments was optional and rarely used.
Punk was an excuse, it was a way out.
There were a few musicians however that took the medium in their stride and applied music to the noise. (BTW happy birthday to John Ford of the Monks).
Jeff Wolfe is another gifted Punker, he knows how to construct a song.
Peter Champe founder of Comfy Care and Eclipse Sun Products talks about how he identified a product; got it created; built a successful website; entered the consumer market and learned many things he shares with the audience. A truly spectacular interview every small business leader needs to hear.
Raena Janes from Veebo talks about how rewards programs can bring merchants customers, added sales, increased profits. Her enthusiasm for the product made her invest and become its CEO.
Deb Bowen an Authority on Nudism as a Lifestyle, Clothing Optional & Lifestyle Expert talks about nudism as a marketplace.
Deena grew up doing yoga since she was kicking in the womb, but it wasn't really until she found this sweatiness that the true love affair began. After many major physical injuries that limited her mobility and life traumas that held her down, Modo brought her back. She is greatly inspired to help people get out of physical and emotional pain and live life to the fullest.
Deena Robertson is the co founder of Moksha Yoga Danforth in Toronto, Moksha Yoga London in Ontario, and Modo Yoga LA. She was a member of the Moksha/Modo Teacher Training Faculty for nearly 8 years until she decided that wanted to focus full time in LA.
Her background in competitive basketball, volleyball and European handball was the seed for a strong passion to find ways to challenge the body while being mindful and attentive to long term health. Her classes will inspire you to challenge yourself to new heights and truly start to listen to yourself.
She is grateful for all her life lessons, and her teachers, greatest of all being her mother JJ who taught her that life is what you make it with such gems as "Shit happens, but suffering is optional!"
Where’s Mine!? Where’s Yours!? Your Garden, your Dream, your Goals? Where’s that Life you should be having about now? Though you've planted and prayed over that Awesome Life you’ve been striving for, you don’t have much more than some teasing twig and a few stray weeds to show for it. You've tried this method, that technique, and those processes, still nothing seems to do the trick. What you need is a “Magic Pill,” right? It frustrates enough to make you shout out loud, “Dude, Where’s My Garden!?”
Mordant & McFall take this opportunity to share some of what they've been going through lately. How their life lessons have been directing them away from seeking a “magic pill” and more toward being consistent, persistent, and resistant to giving up. If your garden is not growing to your expectations yet, take a look at what you’ve planted and make the necessary adjustments. Becoming the Best of the Best takes time. Not to worry - you are already well on your way to becoming the “overnight success” that took 10,000 hours to achieve.
Dude, Where’s My Garden!?
