This weeks special guest is Olympic Medalist: Sanjay Ayre!
Sanjay Ayre won the silver medal as part of the Jamaican men's 4x400 sprint team. In 1999, Sanjay Ayre was a 19-year-old sprinter living in the Bronx, NY who had just won gold in the 400-meter dash at the Pan American Junior Championships. The next year, Ayre began his college career at Auburn University where his coach encouraged him to try out for the Jamaican Olympic team. At the time, Ayre was 20 and a Jamaican citizen. "Track and field is by far the biggest sport in Jamaica," said Ayre, who recently opened up his own training center in Howard County and serves as the men's sprint coach for Howard Community College. In Sydney, Jamaica finished third in the relay, earning Ayre his first Olympic medal. (resourced: Columbia Patch)

Canadian Olympic luger John Fennell came out publicly this week. He talked about the mental struggle of being a closeted gay man trying to compete in Sochi, where well-known laws explicitly targeted him. Fennell we'll join us, and we'll ask him about the reaction to his coming out story and his overall experience in Russia.
Plus, we'll hit on some of the other LGBT athletes talking publicly this week, including a former Baylor basketball player, a tennis player and a college runner who claims he was kicked out of school for being gay.
Some athletes, like Alyson Dudek, think and dream much bigger and go after alternate goals in tandem with achieving Olympic glory.
After winning the 500-meter event and finishing second in short track speed skating at the Olympic qualifier in 2009, Dudek and her teammates won the Bronze medal in the 3,000 metre relay, Vancouver 2010.
But Dudek admits, that her life purpose is much bigger. Her goal is to reinforce, “that it’s never big, to make anyone feel small. I want this message to resonate; that to be nice, is cool.”
Dudek hopes that school visits, community appearances and corporate partnerships will help to enhance the visibility of her anti-bullying message.
“If I can teach one child, then I can made a difference,” she says. As an athlete, Dudek has made her mark, but as a human being she wants to leave this world a better place than she has found it.
Alyson Dudek joins us LIVE at BEYONDtheCheers on blogtalkradio on Wed. May 14th at 7PM EST. Listen on Friday’s at NOON too, on AMFM247. Dial-in TOLL FREE 1-877-357-2448 to ask a question, or email in advance. Listen to any BtC episode at anytime → via iTunes Radio on any iPhone, iPad or computer with iTunes.

July 10, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE: with Andrea Gold, President of Gold Stars Speakers Bureau and the author of The Business of Successful Speaking: Proven Secrets to Becoming a Million Dollar Speaker
THIS WEEK'S MESSAGE: You have a brilliant message to share and you want to deliver that message in a bigger way, while creating a successful speaking business. The professional speaking industry operates on two tracks: the celebrities, like Olympic medal winners or famous politicians, who can come in and immediately command top dollar because of their name recognition; and regular people, who have built their clientele over years of learning how to market themselves and provide good content. Public speaking is a difficult art to master. If you have previously achieved success with a presentation, a speech or even a wedding toast and are passionate about it, then you may have the potential to become a successful speaker. But, where do you start?
Andrea Gold is the President of Gold Stars Speakers Bureau. Andrea is well suited for the speaking business. Her work experience covers the areas of print and electronic media, newspaper reporting and photo-journalism, editing, sales, public relations, marketing, publishing, mail order, and executive management. She claims she "fell into these areas" through a series of fateful events, but claims they were all for good reasons. She embraces constant self-improvement in her own life. Andrea has authored and co-authored five books, including The Business of Successful Speaking: Proven Secrets to Becoming a Million Dollar Speaker.
