Passage to Empowerment - Who's Driving Your Bus?

    in Motivation

Who's actually at the helm of where you are heading?  Do you find yourself doing things you really never wanted to do, but your parents believed was best for you to do?  How about your social activities?  Have your "friends" convinced you that a night on the town somewhere you do not want to go is exactly where you should be?  Are you sitting at the wheel of the bus or in the back waiting to see where others are going to drop you off? Or are you in total control?

Prayer Opens Up Divine Resources, Part 10 (TPMD Bus 2 - #639)

    in Christianity

TODAY'S POEM: "Inspirer and Hearer of Prayer" by Augustus M. Toplady

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Psalm 35:13 which reads: "But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom."

Our featured prayer motivator quote is from John Piper. He said: "Every hope of the gospel succeeds because of Jesus's reverent earnestness in prayer [in the Garden of Gethsemane], and the answer of the Father."

My personal encouragement for you today is this: Here are three more benefits that I have personally received from prayer to God, and that I know you can receive as well. (1) Prayer to God will give you peace and joy even though you don't deserve it. (2) Prayer to God can supply your needs. And (3) Prayer to God can lift burdens, worries, fears, and cares.

Our prayer motivator devotional today is titled "PRAYER OPENS UP DIVINE RESOURCES" part 10 from the book, "Purpose in Prayer" by E.M. Bounds.

    D. L. Moody gives this illustration of the power of prayer: "While in Edinburgh, a man was pointed out to me by a friend, who said: 'That man is chairman of the Edinburgh Infidel Club.' I went and sat beside him and said, 'My friend, I am glad to see you in our meeting. Are you concerned about your welfare?'

"'I do not believe in any hereafter.'

"'Well, just get down on your knees and let me pray for you.'

"'No, I do not believe in prayer.'

"I knelt beside him as he sat, and prayed. He made a great deal of sport of it. A year after I met him again. I took him by the hand and said: 'Hasn't God answered my prayer yet?'

"'There is no God. If you believe in one who answers prayers, try your hand on me.'

#108 – Hillary Has Magical Misery Tour, Marco In, Obama Apologizes, Terror-tots

    in Politics Conservative

Hillary Clinton has begun her fabulous Magical Misery Tour on the bus. It really must gall her to have to get out and press the flesh in Iowa and eat at a Chipotle Grill. She is used to flying high and living off the donations of Chinese and Saudi leaders. Of course she needs eight more years to make the misery of the average American equal to that of the average European and maybe even South American. Marco Rubio throws his hat in the ring and so far gives a decent speech but hasn’t said much. Obama continues to apologize to the world for America, this week to Cuba and Hamas unveils its version of the Cub Scouts; the Cubs of the Caliphate. We prefer the term terror-tot.

    in Current Events

In the times and days that we are currently living in does Chivalry actually play a major part in our own individual lives let alone the world?. Do we as men and women take the time and the opportunity to display a chivalrous act towards someone that we do or do not know? Do we as men open the door, hold the umbrella, pay for dinner or even give up our sit for an elderly person who is trying to find a seat on a RTA bus. For women do we say thank you and your welcome when someone says or does something nice for you even if we are not sure if the person is trying to hit on you. Regardless of the fact is Chivalry Alive or is it DEAD where we as human beings haven't taken the time to pass on the chivalrous trait to our children and families.
