    Indie Books #77 (Nicholas Duncan)

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Nicholas Duncan joins me this week to talk about his book: Tales From A Muzungu

Imagine you are on a plane to a destination you know very little about. On top of that, you don't know anyone else, will be living there for two years, only have a vague idea of what you will be doing, or if it was the right decision. A major comfort is knowing that you aren't the only person having anxiety during this scenario. This is just the beginning of a Peace Corps volunteer’s service. Tales from a Muzungu is about a Peace Corps Volunteer’s two year experience (2010 – 2012) in Uganda. Nicholas Duncan covers the highs and lows of life in Africa by detailing the atmosphere of Uganda and the day to day life of a volunteer. Nicholas writes about his experience with non-profits, adjusting to deep village life, and the surprises of being a muzungu in Africa.

Awaken Your Third Eye: How Accessing Your Sixth Sense Can Help You Find Knowledge, Illumination, and Intuition

Usually, you perceive the world by using your five senses: sight, taste, smell, touch, and hearing.

But there is a sixth sense, an inner eye that can open the gateway to subtler realms of existence. Developing this inner eye will enable you to view a previously invisible world of multiple dimensions, spiritual planes filled with light, and alternate realities of indescribable wonders. This eye of wisdom, knowledge, illumination, and intuition is aptly named the third eye.

Using the methods in Awaken Your Third Eye, you will learn how to develop supersensory perception, and how to use your third eye in your everyday life to receive guidance, healing, wisdom, inspiration, creativity, and spiritual awakening.

    Indie Books #85 (Jeffrey Stayton)

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Jeffrey Stayton joins me this week to talk about his novel: This Side of the River

Told from multiple narrators, this gritty tale takes place in the summer of 1865 after the Confederacy has collapsed. A contingent of young Civil War widows who have survived General Sherman's March to the Sea rally around a teenage, Christ-haunted Texas Ranger named Cat Harvey to travel to Ohio to burn down Sherman's home. This compelling tale explores themes of trauma, revenge, redemption, and the disorder known then as nostalgia or soldier's heart. Author Corey Mesler proclaimd This Side of the River yarn-spinning of the highest order. Stayton's narrative, which gives Confederate soldiers body servants a voice that few Civil War stories do, will burn bright long after you ve put the book down.

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Robert Lovelle Rooks joins me this week to talk about his book:: The Guidon Bearer: A Basic Training Story

Boot Camp. Otherwise known as Basic Military Training. The rigorous and memorable Rite of Passage every person who ever served in the United States Armed Forces, whether Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Corps, Army or Air Force has been through. If you have ever served or know anyone who has served ask them about Basic Training. They will remember. "The Guidon Bearer" is a semi-fictitious account of one man's journey through Air Force Basic Military Training [Around the year 2000]. Unlike the other four services, anyone who served in the U.S. Air Force has gone through the exact same place: Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. Here's a story all veterans will relate to, non-service-members will find entertaining and all Air Force veterans past, present and future will give a big thumbs up! Maybe even wonder if they were there when it happened.

    TWO WAYS TO SUNDAY~

Chris Marcum was a man who had everything. The perfect wife, the perfect job, and the perfect life. He was also sure his belief in God did not depend on those successes. So when an angel appeared to him on his deathbed with a challenge to prove the depths of his faith, Chris immediately accepted. Relive your life, with no recollection. This time however, without the breaks. What happens when instead of going right, you go left? What if there are no happy endings? How much can a man endure before he hits his breaking point? And what happens then?
