Friday, May 8, 2015 - It's another playoff-infused edition of NBA Live Talk!
On Monday, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry was selected as the recipient of the NBA's Most Valuable Player award. In 80 regular season games, the Warriors' floor general averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Yesterday, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler was awarded with the NBA's Most Improved Player accolade. In 65 regular season games, the 25-year-old Marquette product averaged 20 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
Second Round Update:
(1) Atlanta Hawks vs. (5) Washington Wizards: 1-1
(2) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (3) Chicago Bulls: 1-1
(1) Golden State Warriors vs. (5) Memphis Grizzlies: 1-1
(2) Houston Rockets vs. (3) Los Angeles Clippers: 1-1
Rule of thumb: Don't bet against LeBron James.
Yes, the Golden State Waqrriors have three players who can defend him: Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala.
Yes, the Golden State Warriors have the reigning MVP in Stephen Curry.
Yes, the Warriors are healthier.
Yes, the Warriors have home court advantage, having lost only three times all season at Oracle Arena.
But does anybody out there really want to state that Stephen Curry is a better all-around player than LeBron James?
Does anybody out there have any doubts about LeBron's confidence level? Or his drive? Or the zeal behind the quest he is on -- to bring Cleveland its first professionsl sports championship in any sport since 1964?
The Golden State Warriors are damn good. I have them winning three games in the NBA Finals.
But I have the Cavs winning four games, including Game 7 on the road, as I told Brandon Tierney and Tiki Barber of CBS Sports Radio in this interview.
Our Broadcast today will be live at the Protest March at Parking Lot 1. We are at the corner of Washington and Front Streets, with Councilwoman Goosby, and many others standing for what is right. The Developers are planning to break ground beginning here in this parking area, and many residents are coming out to speak out against it. The Overcrowded schools with 60 students per class, and the imposition of a new 336 unit apartment building a block away will only detract from the education of our students. Join us live on the phone at 10:30 am 718-305-6322 or click on and hear the voices of those in protest.(blogtalkradio.com /don-durant)
Our Broadcast today will focus on the so-called redevelopment of communities. We have seen it in Harlem, and we have seen it in Downtown Brooklyn. We saw it in Detroit, and in Philadeplhia, as well as Camden, New Jersey. How little concern there is for the established residents of a community in order to force them out and raise the prices to bring others in.
