Then he and Shawn checked out the new Adele's Restaurant and went to the Nashville Lifestyles "Style Setters" event!
And this week's #NUartist is Chancellor Warhol! Nashville Underground's first hip hop artist, Chancellor grew up drawn to art, cinema, fashion and a diverse culture all of which helped shape his very own style of music today. Channeling an alternative/electro rap style, his unconventional sound has earned him a place on stages such as Bonnaroo, SXSW, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest, Life is Beautiful Festival, and Sundance Film Festival.
This week, the guys recap Thanksgiving and discuss more holiday plans, plus news, upcoming events and more!
And this week's #NUartist is EZA! EZA, (pronounced Eh-Za) is 21-year old Ellery Bonham, an exceptional vocalist and musician who writes her music primarily using vocal loops and synthesizers. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, Matt and Shawn break a brand new artist on the show! Laura McCormick's first single, her first album, her first radio interview... right here on Nashville Underground Radio, as we WORLD PREMIERE her song "Feel The Fire!"
With a voice comparable to that of Bonnie Raitt, Ann Wilson of Heart, and Linda Ronstadt, McCormick mixes power vocals with gut wrenching songwriting, blending her folk and country roots with her classic rock upbringing. After working as an ICU nurse for the past six years, Laura is now following her dreams into music, and brings a fierce set of pipes with her debut album Box Full of Trouble.
This week Matt and Shawn also discuss Lollapalooza, American Idol, birthday celebrations and more!
From April 16 - 27, Nashville turns from Music City to Movie City as the Nashville Film Festival (NaFF) takes place. Coming up in June: #NUartist Zeke Duhon is performing at The Stone Fox on the 3rd at 8pm and Musicians Corner on the 7th at 2pm. And today's guest is Nashville Underground Management's Kylie Rothfield, who will be performing at Nashville Pride on the 14th at noon, The Bluebird Cafe on June 22 at 6pm AND the Instruments of Joy Benefit on the 29th!
Crafting songs that combine elements of soul, blues and pop, Kylie Rothfield’s music is unique, honest, and universally appealing. Although her vocal ability is undeniable, she is also an accomplished self-taught guitarist, being able to support her captivating live stage show as a solo acoustic performer or with a full band. Her self-released debut EP “Rag Doll” – produced by Russ Pahl and set for release April 13th - is truly a testament to her artistry.

Overzealous will still remain an active band and outlet for Dustin Sellers songs and performances. However, Sellers has alot of material that is unique to both overzealous and to previous material he has written.
