Tranter Exploration Zambia is the first indigenous company which has gone into large scale mineral exploration and mining in Luapula Province’s Mansa and Mwense districts. Tranter Zambia partnered with Tranter Holdings(Pty) Limited, a South African registered company, with a focus in resources as well as in engineering manufacturing and supplying of mining and energy equipment, spares and accessories and providing engineering services. It was formed with the overriding goal of facilitating the creation of sustainable economic empowerment in the SADC region.This joint venture has spent more than USD 2 million exploring manganese, copper and other minerals in Luapula in north eastern Zambia, near the border with Democratic Republic of Congo since the formation of the alliance recently.

Tranter executives believe that Zambia has favorable investment policies which encourage local investors to work side by side with foreign investors as a way of empowering local businesses.
Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament for Mwense Jacob Chongo who hailed president Rupiah Banda’s commitment and drive to ensure that development is taken to all provinces in Zambia within the short period of time he has served as President, has been adopted to run on the MMD ticket for Mwense Parliamentary seat. He was quoted on Zambia online website as saying, “President Banda is most of the time seen officiating at schools, launching road work rehabilitation and so on. The man has done a lot for the nation and will have a good vote during the elections this year. Every district is receiving development. Schools, health centres and hospitals are being constructed everywhere and no doubt he is the right person to govern this country." He talks to us about Zambia's 2011 General Elections.
