    Wavy Gravy: Saint Misbehavin'

    in Lifestyle

Wavy Gravy, who's reached official geezerhood, is more active and more effective in the world then he was decades ago. Back then, when still known as Hugh Romney, he stood on the stage of the original Woodstock concert and announced...."What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000!" He was at Woodstock as a member of an entertainment/activist commune known as the Hog Farm. Today, the Hog Farm still exists, collectively owning and operating the 700-acre Black Oak Ranch and hosting the annual Pig-Nic. And Wavy lives a third of the year in a Berkeley Hog Farm urban outpost, a big communal house he refers to as "hippie Hyannisport" But Mr. Gravy has expanded his activities over the past two-and-a-half decades to include co-directorship (with his wife, Jahanara) of Camp Winnarainbow, a performing arts program for children which takes over the Hog Farm for 10 weeks every summer, and the organization of all-star rock concerts to raise money for a variety of environmental, progressive, political, and charitable causes, most notably Seva, a foundation he cofounded in 1978, initially to combat preventable and curable blindness in the Third World.  On May 17, Mr. Gravy will host a concert benefitting Seva to coincide with his 79th birthday.

He may be best known to millions as a cosmic cut-up and the inspiration for a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor, but it is because of his good work on behalf of the planet and its least fortunate residents that Wavy Gravy has achieved his own brand of sainthood. His friend and satirist, Paul Krassner, has called him "the illegitimate son of Harpo Marx and Mother Teresa." Wavy says, "Some people tell me I'm a saint, I tell them I'm Saint Misbehavin'."

Hahn America Radio: 25 GOP Candidates? C'est la vie, Or A Bloody Mess?

It's been a long time since the Republican race for President has been this crowded with qualified candidates. Unlike the last round (when the candidates were Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann and, uh, who was that third guy?), there are at least three solid contenders for the GOP nomination this year — and a slew of other maybes running as well. In fact, there are so many candidates, it can get a little hard to keep track. To help make sense of them all, we talked to Kyle Kondik of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, who ranked the candidates based on their chances. From the heavy hitters to the oddballs, here's who's most likely to be on the ballot against Hillary (and yes, it will be Hillary) come November.

GOP presidential hopefuls turned up their attacks Saturday on Hillary Clinton -- taking turns piling on the 2016 Democratic presidential frontrunner during a party summit in New Hampshire.

The first five 2016 GOP presidential candidates or potential candidates used at least some of their stage time at the Republican Leadership Summit, in Nashua, N.H., to criticize Clinton, who is scheduled to be in the state Monday and Tuesday.

“I’m starting to worry that when Clinton travels she'll need two planes -- one for her and her entourage and one for her baggage,” said Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul, particularly critical of Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state in which four Americans were killed in Benghazi, Libya, and she used a private server and email address for official business.

“When I think of scandals, the one that bothers me the most is Benghazi,” he continued. “What I fault Hillary most for is for nine months (Americans in Benghazi) pleaded for help.”

Nearly 20 Republican White House prospects were on the program for the weekend conference that ended Saturday afternoon.

    House Harkonnen 2016

    in Politics Conservative

Baron Vladimir Harkonnen dispatches his psychotic nephew Glossu Rabban to Arrakis so he can plunder spice and terrorize the population. Knowing that the people will resist, he plans to send his other nephew Feyd-Rautha (feigning to be their savior) so the people willingly submit their consent to being ruled by House Harkonnen either way. This Hegelian dialectic is not merely a literary ploy employed by Frank Herbert; it is the same psychological manipulation employed, rather successfully, by the masters of the New World Order against you. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton...Romney, Obama, McCain, Rubio et al–vote your choice. What difference, at this point, does it make? Whether Clinton or Bush or some other Neocon psycho, 2016 belongs to House Harkonnen...and so do you.  Harkonnen/Harkonnen 2016!

The Constitutional Republic has been usurped by tyranny with a veneer of democracy and elections. It shall persist UNLESS liberty-loving people band together to restore Constitutional governance for a free and virtuous nation from your own community on up to the Imperial District of Corruption. Restore The Constitutional Militia of the Several States, sound money, free economies, religious and civil liberties as well as a sensible foreign policy of trade, friendship and non-interventionist defense backed up by the most powerful Navy and Marines; or watch the fascists in both parties push transnational agendas. This is the last chance to stop those who perpetuate a hegemonic empire abroad and a fascist police state at home.  To defeat the lawless hordes of Cultural Marxists, fascists, oligarchs, kleptocrats, useful idiots and their fellow travelers especially the Democrat-socialists, first you MUST CRUSH the Neocon fascist-socialists on ‘the right’. . .for liberty!

Republican and Democrat Christians causing moral dilemma and political hypocrisy

    in Politics

    Hypocrisy on the Democrat side:

How can President Obama and other Democrats say they are Christians, followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and advocate for the act of homosexuality and lesbianism? Then turn and point fingers at republicans for being insensitive to the poor and needy.

    Hypocrisy on the Republican side:

Why did Billy Graham scrubb the Mormon religion off his web site as a cult religion, so that he could endorse Mitt Romney for President?  Why did Cardinal Dolan take the lead in criticizing Obamacare for forcing the Church to pay for abortions and contraceptives, when he was paying insurance for these services up to ten years before Obamacare?

She will illuminate listeners about the effect of disabilities on marriages and sibling relationships as well.

Chatting with Beau Coup author Palessa

    in Books

Join Debbie Workman, this week,as she welcomes co-host Lisa Kait!
The ladies will be chatting with Beau Coup Publishing's multi-genre author Palessa.

Palessa started reading her first romance novel, at the age of 11. Then she got introduced to V.C. Andrews, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Anne Rice and many more notable contemporary authors as well as some of the classics, A Tale of Two Cities, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Great Gatsby and others.

It was during her teenage years that she dabbled in writing. First, it was in her diaries, then she started creating characters, stories about romance, the supernatural and much more. Being an International Baccalaureate student as well as entering college, left little time for writing and so she put it and the ideas aside to pursue a career. It would take almost 20 years, a radical move from the city she grew up in, Miami, FL back to her Caribbean birthplace, and a chance Facebook meeting with Sable Hunter to start the juices flowing again.

After some fits and starts, the Baxter Family Saga was born. Unchained Hearts is Palessa's first published fiction book with Beau Coup Publishing. She considers herself just a storyteller that sees no reason to shy away from the juicier romantic elements. She currently lives in the mountains of Jamaica with her crazy, cracker-munching-mutt Ivy and a farm, primarily managed by agribusiness partner, also known as Dad.

NWCR #314 - Remember what they have said.......

    in Politics Conservative

Everyone from the democrat party, and sadly many from the republican party have said things that later they turn against and go the other way with.  Obama telling us what he wants to do, then being told by the majority of the people and the House, NO,  but doing it anyway.  Harry Reid telling lies about Romney and then bragging about it saying "at least it got Obama elected".  The Hildebeast Clinton using her own email server while Secretary of State, something that was illegal and according to law, makes her ineligible to run for any office...yet there she is...still running for office.  For the democrats, laws mean nothing but giving them something to break while holding the other side to it.  Remember what they have said beccause now our republic is teetering on the brink with the democrats war on christians being waged against businesses and succeeding in putting them out of business.  Join us for another  informative show with the infidel.
