Mystic Radio: Parallel and Multi-Universe
Mystic Radio is Back! And for the first time we have directly based the shows on input from the community in a way we hope has added beneficial interactivity.
We will kick off the first of our next episodes with the highest voted item in the Poll, Parallel and Multi-Universe. The concept has long Esoteric associations, as well as newly discovered scientific evidence to support these early assertions - that there is more than one aspect to our fragment of reality we call - the Universe.
As Quantum physicists get down to what is known as String Theory, we can approach a nearly complete picture of a Unified Field - Through Vibration. These vibrations occur on a Membrane or "Brane", that physicists now feel separate one fabric universe from another.

Building a Culture Key to Multi-unit Success
One can hardly think about building a culture in franchising without mentioning Jersey Mike's Subs. So, it's very fitting to start the Multi-unit Franchising Series on Franchise Today with a member of the Jersey Mike's corporate team as our guest in the first of two segments in the series.
Michael Manzo, Chief Operating Officer of Jersey Mike's joins host, Paul Segreto as they explore best practices in multi-unit franchising and how brand culture plays an important role in developing a successful multi-unit program.
About Our Guest
A Jersey Mike’s Subs veteran, Michael Manzo came up through the system “wearing the apron.” Working side by side with Founder & CEO Peter Cancro, Michael’s fingerprints are on nearly every aspect of the company from operations to training and from purchasing to franchise development.
Michael has the distinction of working at the original Mike’s Subs restaurant in Point Pleasant during high school (1979-81). After serving 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Michael managed the original store in 1985. In 1987, the name was changed to Jersey Mike’s and the company began franchising. In 1992, after building out more than 30 restaurants, Michael left the company. In 1996, he rejoined Jersey Mike’s when there were still less than 35 restaurants.
Ever since, Michael has been a champion for bringing customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry. Today, Jersey Mike’s is a growing brand with 750 restaurants open and under development nationwide, winning best sub awards in virtually every market it serves.
Franchise Today is a production of Franchise Foundry.

Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Joshua Kwaasman!
"Jazz is evolving...it's more of a spirit than a defined idea. I don't think I'm very concerned with the label of it. I just want to do something honest."
And with that, Woodwind Wizard/Multi-Instrumentalist/Composer/Young Visionary Josh Kwaasman stole my Hybrid Heart :)
Connecticut born, now New York based, this wonderful artist learned far more in his education than his teachers dreamed. With a Masters in Music from NYU's Jazz Program, Joshua has created a project with a main focus: a lifelong friendship.
Such a beautiful story...Josh and this boy (who he idolized) would ride bikes together. Age and boldness took them further on their trails, sometimes 100 miles away from home. Each time, Josh trusted his friend to get him back safely. Each time, Justin did. It makes for some personal music, "Songs of the Brother Spirit." But our guest isn't content with merely telling HIS tales. He wants to connect with YOU. He figures that, if the music doesn't move you, then he wants no part of it. This is a very different artist! And those with whom he has shared a stage (Ingrid Jensen, Tabla Master Badal Roy) quite agree.
Please join us on Thursday, May 16th - at two p.m. Eastern USA time - as we learn more about this ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award-Winner (twice, consecutively!) His solo at Lincoln Center...headlining at JazzPeru...his philosophy of texturing on stage (fascinating!). Let's open some doors into The Future of Jazz. We cannot find a more eloquent spokesperson :)
