Tune in to Love Liberty & Lip Gloss on Thursday APR 21 @ 7 PM Eastern (4 PM Pacific) when Donna Lyons interviews the amazing and talented Lindsay Bloom, Film and Television Actress, Singer, Dancer, Pageant Queen and supporter of our troops.
Lindsay went from being the winner of Miss Arizona to being the last Ding a Ling Singer/Dancer on Dean Martin's Variety show. She went on to appear in over 20 television shows from classics as far back as Rhoda, Switch, Barnaby Jones, to guest starring with Beauty Pageant alum Lynda Carter on Wonder Woman.
Lindsay had continuing roles throughout the 70’s with greats like Charlies Angels which turns 40 this year, Love Boat, Trapper John MD and, Starsky and Hutch. She then went on to get her big recurring roles on three well known shows from the 80's playing Sweet and Sassy and a lil Shady "Hazzard Co. Telephone Operator Maybelle Tillingham, Boss Hogg's Cousin on the DUKES OF HAZZARD and the conniving tough Texas girlfriend Bonnie to one of Jock Ewing's sons Ray Krebbs from "DALLAS" . Most don't know that Lindsay played both parts on Friday's big shows at the same time.... Leaving the set of the Dukes as Southern Belle Maybelle straight to the set of Dallas to become mean Bonnie.
The 3rd recurring role came when execs plastered a national casting call and Lindsay went in against 5000 others. She was told they needed her to drop 30 lbs and change her hair color to dark brown to even be considered to advance for the part. After fasting, diet of fruits and veggies and a box of color. The rest as they say is history. Lindsay was transformed as "VELDA" the buxom brunette Secretary/Assistant to the NEW MIKE HAMMER!
Lindsay also had starring roles in several feature films over the years.
She has also been a huge support to the troops bringing entertainment to our veterans.

Health and wellness educator Carolyn Russ talks with us about the benefits of a plant-based, sustainable food diet. It turns out that old adage about "you are what you eat" is right! You can take control of your own and your family's health by including more fruits and vegetables in your diet.
This Monday on our show we will feature our first guest, a licensed dietitian who will speak about healthy eating and taking your questions on this important subject. For example, are you meeting the daily recommendations for fruits, veggies, protein? What are your barriers to healthy eating?
At the age of 72 and one who has been a vegetarian for over twenty five years,I am compelled to share this topic of discussion, with the hope of inspiring "Food for Thought" Baba Wesley Gray
Join us as we review Food for The Spirit..By Steven Rosen
"It would be wonderful if the world adopted vegetarianism, on religious grounds or any other. But this is not likely. I am a skeptic, it's true, but I am also realistic. In any event, what the people in general do will not affect me.I will continue to be a vegetarian even if the whole world started to eat meat.
This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree - to disagree with the course of things today.Nuclear power, starvation, cruelty-we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement. And I think it's a strong one.
Author Steven Rosen makes a similar statement in his book. And although I do no necessarily agree witn everthing he says, point for point,I do find his work fascinating and convincing. He correctly points our that various philosophers and religious leaders have tried to convince their following that animals are nothing more than machines, put on earth for our pleasure, with no purpose of their own.
Mr.Rosen smashes this idea, however, and every reader who is predisposed to the vegetarian ideal will enjoy his logic and reason in doing this" -.Isaac Bashevis Singer
Renee Randall is a woman farmer. The earliest agriculturalists were women, and even now, in many parts of the world, women are the ones who plant, tend and harvest.
She started out studying nutrition, and 1974, with three children in tow and help from her friends, she moved from the heart of Chicago and became Farmer Renee, farming organically for the past 41 years. Her children grew up on the farm and worked alongside her. They farmed with horses, plowed, made hay, milked cows, and then, when She began growing veggies in 1988, were there by her side again. Now, it's her visiting grandchildren that ride the transplanter, dig fingerling potatoes and eat cherry tomatoes off the vine. Her website is www.willowridgeorganicfarm.com

I like to start my day with fresh veggies that I pick in my garden and eat in my garden as I'm watering and/or checking the plants. I'm always prepared when "Freshy Veggies Day" comes around. A big welcome to a new year of energies and potential! January 2016 kicks off with one of our favorite things - Mercury retrograde! - and includes Jupiter going retrograde, too.
We'll talk about what the month has in store with Saturn in Sagittarius requiring you to believe in yourself more, Jupiter in Virgo making sure you are eating your veggies and focusing on the daily details, and Chiron and Neptune in Pisces encouraging us to constantly let things go and remember the spiritual aspects of our journey.
The New Moon in Capricorn on January 9 focuses on your next round of goals, and the Full Moon on January 23 is about opening up to bigger sources of freedom and support.
Plus, 2016 is a whole new ballgame of energies than the past 3 years have been. You may even feel an exhale of sorts - we'll discuss!
