Racism w/guests Jovan Mackenzy, T Deimaris Barlow, & Erick Rose
Racism has exsisted for a very long time throughout history in the world, and here in America we have a part of our History during the times of slavery where black men and women were treated as less then human. We would like to think we have come along way since those days but have we? While racism has never truly gone away in our country and most likely will always be around in some form until the Lord returns, over the last year or so we have seen an increase of this or at least it seems as an increase now that with social media videos and photos can quickly travel in minutes if not seconds. Allowing everyone to see acts of racism much more then may have possibly been seen without the internet and access to video cameras at the touch of our fingertips on just about every phone that someone may have.
My prayer for this show is to really talk about this issue of racism and what we are seeing our country. Talking about the police, black on black crime, repsonses from white people, racial profiling, the sin of racism, and what we can do better as Christians to enagage and respond to the sin of racism and show the world how to deal with this issue from a biblical worldview. While at the same time not minimizing the hurt, pain and anger felt by those who have been on the negative side of racism because of the color of their skin.
There's a lot of conversation about black men & women of other races, how they treat those women but recently a video has been circulating that has sparked the conversation about how differently black women behave when they date outside their race.
This week Playing Devil's Advocate™ hosted by Ms. KiKi, the crew will discuss that video and explore interracial relationships from the black woman’s perspective.
Do black women feel like black men don’t value and revere their women like they do “others”?
Do black women only date out their race because they have given up on black men?
Do black women behave differently when they are in relationships with non-black men?
This conversation is not to be missed and your participation is a must, so set a reminder and JOIN THE DISCUSSION!
And if that's not enough we have our Producer Cousin Chan's "Drink of the Week" and our weekly “Ask PDA” advice letter!! If you want to give your two cents....contact us on Facebook, Twitter, via email, or in our interactive chat room or LIVE on Youtube Wed night!

Welcome to the Wednesday Edition of the jrilshow. Tonight we are exploring the depths of interracial dating. What is wrong with it? Would you have a problem if your child dated someone outside of their race? Plus the Listening Lounge is on tonight is well. Come get your laugh on tonight on the jrilshow!
In the definition of “racism”, the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, to distinguish it as superior to another race is primary. Prejudice, discrimination, and antagonism directed against someone of a darker hue based on the belief that one's own race is superior has dominated the behavior of many Americans in the United States.
Racism has existed throughout human history- hatred of one person by another because of skin color, language and customs influenced wars, promotion of slavery and the formation of nations. When Portuguese sailors first explored Africa in the 15th century, they came upon empires and cities as advanced as their own and they considered Africans to be serious rivals. Over time, as European powers began to plunder the continent and forcibly remove its inhabitants to work as slave laborers in new colonies across the Atlantic, Africans came to be seen as a deficient "species," as "savages." This view was necessary to justify the slave trade at a time when Western culture had begun to promote individual rights and human equality.
Black people are seen by racists as merely subhuman, more like beasts than men. American scientists and philosophers devised a false racial "science" to "prove" the supremacy of non-Jewish whites. While the Nazi annihilation of Jews discredited most of these supposedly scientific efforts to elevate one race over another, small numbers of scientists and social scientists have continued throughout the 20th century to argue the inborn shortcomings of certain races, especially Black people. What may seem to be significant "racial" differences to some people - skin color, hair, facial shape - are not of scientific significance.
ARE YOU DOWN WITH THE SWIRL?
What is your overall opinion of interracial dating? Do the potential rewards outweigh the challenges?

Showtime 8AM-10AM EST
Events in our recent past has once again brought this ugly topic back to the headlines and studios of the mainstream media outlets. It seems everyone from the President of the United States to the person sleeping under a bridge is either a racist or a victim of racism. Every day somewhere (just about everywhere) we hear of gatherings of people screaming and committing criminal acts in protest of unfair justice and "slave-like" treatment.
Preachers, politicians, community organizers and more continue to use racism as a tool in their war chest to further advance their own existence.
This topic really has us all "In the Pickle Barrel"!

Racism is wrong and all should stand against it. Those that are bold and couragous will be attacked severely. This country supports those that want to keep the system of white supremacy going. Anyone that dare take a stand against it is viewed as a enemy. It doesn't matter what race you are just don't buck the system.

In Michigan, just a few days ago, a young man in a suburb of Detroit captured a video of bullies taunting him and calling him nigger as they rode the bus to a concert. The students responsible for the taunting were suspended, but the mother of the victim and some other supporters think that their should be a more harsh penalty. Unfortunately, the situation may not hold a lot of weight in the way of racial intimidation. But, why is that?
