Americas Most Unwanted and The People Who Find Them

    in Legal

Our weekly look at the bail bond industry. In some ways it is a bizzare industry. There are elements of law enforcement that don't like it, there are politicians that hate it, there are DA's that would lose no sleep if it went away. And of course last but not lease there is the man or woman that needs it!

Happiness however can be replaced by sadness in a heartbeat. Don't turn up for a court date, expect to have a grumpy Bail Bondsman knocking on your door.

A question I am going to ask this week is how seriously threats of death or Bodily Damage taken? Sure, most are said in the heat of the moment, but some, are cold and calculated.

I invite listeners to call in and join the conversation

    in Religion

A trophy-hunting American sparked worldwide outrage after he killed a beloved lion that was lured off protected land in Zimbabwe.

Minnesota dentist Walter Palmer, who faces poaching charges, paid $55,000 to a pair of local guides for the lion hunt earlier this month in the African nation.

Auhorities charge the safari was more like a mob hit, with the unwitting 13-year-old king of the jungle known as Cecil enticed to his death on unprotected land outside Hwange National Park.

After Palmer shot the lion with a bow and arrow, the wounded beast was stalked for 40 hours before it was shot, skinned and beheaded, with its carcass dumped near the park’s border.

Walter Palmer, left, with a trophy lion he shot during a hunt in Africa.

Breaking the Chains...Live Interview by Chili Most of Los Angeles

    in Motivation

    I have a dream...Celebrating Our Jubilee!

Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Civil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality.

So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? How will we strengthen our families and our communities? How will we show the power of LOVE in the world? How are we Leading Change?

Fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we Celebrate our Jubilee and join in that movement of teaching us all to evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for the elevation of our consciousness for unity of all.

Today, we are broadcasting at a different time so that you can hear my live interview by Chili Most, of Los Angeles California who is an activist, musician and founder of Stop the Violence: 'N Love with Love. His newest single, Fight for your Rights was released in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King and inspires us to to live for the freedom of all, despite race, gender, religion or creed. He is interviewing people from Detroit, MI who are doing positive things in the city to share with the world the awesome things that happening and not just the negative propaganda commonly seen in the news.

I'm honored to be one of his featured guest, and to share this interview live with you on my show. I am confident that you will be inspired to take up this banner of Fight for Your Rights and begin to organize for greater change in our city of Detroit.

We are powerful, and together we rise!

PWE Empowerment Presents: It Factor Insider With Special Guest Michelle Roberts

    in Entrepreneur

Michelle A. Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia, is a fighter and a winner. She describes her impressive life change in this way: “After being married for 17 years, I finally awakened to the realization that my drug-addicted husband was not going to change. I had remained in the marriage—for too long—largely for two reasons. One was because I thought no one would want a fat girl with three babies. The other, deeper reason was because I was not raised with my father and always longed for that relationship, so I clung to the hope that my husband would be the man who would fill that void. He did not. In fact, he put our children and me through the maddening frustrations and disappointments that come with sharing life with an addict. I became so depressed I began carrying 268 pounds on a five-foot frame. Finally, however, I took charge of my life. I had life-altering surgery, gastric bypass, and lost more than 110 pounds. I got a divorce, began a lifestyle of fitness, went back to school, and obtained bachelors, masters and is currently a Doctoral Candidate. I opened several businesses and authored several books. Yes,the years of schooling and attitude change were hard. Yes, I cried. Yes, I complained sometimes. But whenever I felt on the verge of giving up, I had only to look at my three children, and a fight for dear life would arise in me.”

    in Music

In Washington, D.C., we are fortunate to have several performing musicians that are internationally known and they direct Jazz programs at Universities in the area.  This evening, I will interview Allyn Johnson who is the director of The University of the District of Columbia Jazz Studies Program.  In addition, we will listen to tunes from his recent release, The Light That Grew Among Us. He is a native Washingtonian with many talents.  Not only does he play the piano, he is an educator, composer, arranger and producer.  He is one of the most sought after musicians in the jazz community.  As a result, he divides his time between two cities, appearing at the Blue Note, Village Vanguard, and Birdland in New York, and Blues Alley and Bohemian Caverns in his home town.  Join us this evening at Jazz Notes where jazz lives!
