SATURDAY WAKE UP CALL-Deception, Distraction, and Distrust

    in Spirituality

    SATURDAY MORNING WAKE UP

Topic for the Day:  Deception, Distraction, and Distrust

From Jef Nance - Deception Secrets

Are You Focused or Distracted? How to Master the Only 2 States of Mind You’re Ever in…

Do you ever stop to think about… what you’re thinking about?

What do you think most of your thoughts concern:  Yourself?  Others?  An ever-alternating mix of the two?

Our minds are like little machines that never stop running.  So we get used to the continual purring of the motor, virtually NEVER even realizing what it’s producing… or considering that we can affect the product.

So I’ll ask you to consider this:  How much of your thought do you think is centered oncontrol?

    Milling About with Jonny Orsini

    in Entertainment

Jonny Orsini (Broadway's The Nance, MacBeth) makes his Off-Broadway leading debut in Almost Home playing a marine who returns home to uncertainties and challenges after his tour of duty. Jonny tells host Robin Milling he went the distance for the role taking on the physique of a marine with lots of pull-ups and push-ups consulted by former marines, co-star Joe Lisi playing his father and playwrite Walter Anderson who based the play on his own experiences in Vietnam. He also had to be mindful of his vegan diet so he reveals the 'eggs' he eats on stage every performance prepared by his mother, played by Karen Ziemba (Bullets Over Broadway), are really tofu scramble made to look like the real thing. Jonny has an affinity for men in service, playing a marine before in the film Cigarette Candy. He says he deeply admires their sacrifice and contribution and is honored to bring their stories to light.

Born in the small town of Cheshire, Connecticut Jonny gave up the saxophone to pursue sports and that fell by the wayside when acting became his passion at college in Boston. Music will always be a part of his artistic expression. He recalls the night when Ethan Hawke picked up the guitar in MacBeth to appease the audience after a technical glitch canceled the show.

Next Jonny is looking forward to starring with Larry David in A Fish In The Dark starting rehearsals in December.

He wrote his 1st song when he was 14 years old, and developed an on and off again relationship with his mistress (MUSIC). From 1997-2004, A2 went from being a member of multi groups, transitioned to a solo artist in 2005, and in 2006 became a writer for a children's company that will make a truly historical contribution in children's education/entertainment. His goal is to become one of the most sought after "Song Writers" of our generation.

Food is life and love to Cady and she performs it all in song for one night only at 54 Below in New York City. In the show she explores her relationship to food such as grappling with the loss of her ex husband's cooking. She jokes, 'After 17 years of marriage I found myself 'divorced and hungry!' Cady talks about her dating escapades and how she's moved on.

Cady talks about her wondrous musical theater career which began as a teenage drag queen in La Cage Aux Folles and most recently as a Burlesque dancer in The Nance. Her dancing accomplishments began with Bob Fosse in Big Deal.

Gaby's Chef Sylvain Harribey, former winner of the Food Network's Chopped serves a delicious tasting and wine pairing. Beginning with butternut squash bisque in a capuccino cup, followed by fois gras delicately rolled with proscuitto and served with a mini beaker of truffle oil to drizzle over it, lamb loin on white bean puree, and an american standard 'Frenchinized,' as Chef puts it -- a hamburger or Franburger served on a crispy baguette with brie cheese.
