Ask MomRN Show - Dr. Trevicia Williams
Dr. Trevicia Williams shares her inspiring story of winning over adversity and how she went from child bride to a successful psychologist, author, speaker, host of her own radio and television shows and how she helps others realize their potential.
Dr. Williams is a former teenage wife (child bride), and, teen mother who through faith, tough decisions and perseverance succeeded against the odds of adversity. In spite of being an above average student in mostly advanced classes in school, at the age of 14 she was picked up from high school by her mother and told she was getting married. Wearing the red knickerbocker pants she wore the previous year during an audition for the Annie play, her mother carried her to JP Court to get married. In her bounce back book: There Are Pearls in the Pain of Every Experience, she cuts to the chase about her life as a 14 year old African American girl in an arranged marriage to 26 year old man from Germany . The book was inspired by all of her observations, experiences and one of the most amazing pearl and blessing from the marriage, her daughter. Dr. Williams' life is a lesson in faith, self-determination and hope.
