As a precursor to Lacoon Mobile Security's upcoming presentation at Blackhat 2014, we interivew Daniel Brodie, a Sr. Security Researcher at Lacoon to discuss some of the vulnerabilities that exist in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) frameworks, as well as provide some insights into the implications of using VDI in your enterprise.
Daniel explains how while VDI solutions are certainly a beneficial tool to protect enterprises against device theft, they don’t provide protection against targeted threats such as mobile Remote Access Trojans (mRATs) and Man-in-the-Middle. In fact, as he shows in the research, threats against the underlying VDI platform are fairly easy to carry out by using widely-distributed free tools.
The podcast goes over the main topics that he’ll present at Blackhat, including the methods of research, potential threats and best practices that enterprises should follow.
Earlier today a new form of malware was disclosed that is targeting iOS devices. Our team found this particularly interesting as this highly sophisticated malware reportely can impact devices that are not jailbroken, it leverages rogue variants of popular applications and the malware uses code obfuscation to protect itself while taking advantage of mobile applications that are not obfuscated.
We have quickly assembled a team of experts to talk about what we know about this new form of malware and the potential enterprise mobile security implications.
In this podcast, Caleb talks with Jukka Alanen about how mobile apps are under attack, how apps are being exploited by hackers, and what organizations can do safeguard their brands, data, IP, and revenue while developing and releasing new mobile apps. Already 78% of Top 100 iOS and Android apps have been found as hacked, rogue versions, and industry organizations across OWASP, security consultancies, and analysts have started recommending new protection measures. Jukka Alanen is Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy at Arxan Technologies, Inc, a security company that specializes in Application Protection. Recently, IBM and Arxan announced a new preventive security solution that extends the IBM portfolio to app hardening and run-time protection.
It's 2.30 am 26th June 2000, the specialist calmly advised Kay, her son Josh was now a complete quadriplegic, he would spend the rest of his life in bed, if lucky be able to use a motorised wheelchair; devastated Kay looked the doctor in the eye and said "my son will walk again, he is so strong and has a powerful mind". The Doctor replied "Ms Ledson, that's the problem mother's like you, if you do not accept your son will never walk again then I feel sorry for your son". In total disbelief she said, "You don't know me and you don't know my son, he will walk again."

Warrior Talk Radio with GI Jenn & Jeff Gonzales is honored to bring you the first in a series of MILITARY HISTORY episodes. Tonight, we will air A Tribute to those in and effected by the Beirut Bombing, 1983.
On 23 October 1983, a suicide bomber attacked the building serving as a barracks for the 1st Battalion 8th Marines (Battalion Landing Team - BLT 1/8), the death toll was 241 American servicemen: 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and three soldiers, making this incident the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since World War II's Battle of Iwo Jima, the deadliest single-day death toll for the US military since the first day of the Vietnam War's Tet Offensive, and the deadliest single attack on Americans overseas since World War II. Another 128 Americans were wounded in the blast. Thirteen later died of their injuries, and they are numbered among the total number who died.
Tonight, we will be looking at several aspects of the bombing... Who was behind it, the SOP at the BLT, the after-action report and of course, we will be talking to friends and family about the WARRIORS who lost their lives and the heroics of those who tried to save their brothers-in-arms.
Please join us for this special A Tribute to those in and effected by the Beirut Bombing.

Hockey nerds unite! We're sick of media coverage blatantly oozing over teams that we care not to hear about and insulting ones that should be praised. We get it, Crosby and Ovechkin are great players, but there are great things happening in this hockey world that we wish to bring to light. Questions like who is Nikita Kucherov? Why have the Dallas Stars angered our expectations? And really? The Calgary Flames are relevant?
The NHL league wide is fine and good for a nice debate, but our home is in the only actual Metropolitan area in the Metropolitan division. Expect names like Brock Nelson and Anthony Duclair to come up constantly as a Ranger and Islander fan discuss the best storylines in New York hockey. You won't get this from the ignorance from big Mike or the ultra bias from #7. If you want intelligent, fun, insightful discussions about the game, the Wavecrest Warriors are ready to slay that dragon.
