Welcome to "Happiness Index!" This Thursday, we continue our conversation on Mindful Practices: Journey to Joy. The holidays are here and anxiety is building. There are the haves and the have-nots and it appears that the gap between the rich and the poor are greater now than ever. The stress to bring joy to your family by buying more things is great! How does one apply mindful practices to alleviate the stress that come during these "Holy Days"? How can we truly experience the Spirit of the Holidays? Mindful Practices can offer a way. Through Mindful Practices we can celebrate the Holidays in the spirit of giving and sharing without the stress of shopping. The whole world is in the spirit of celebrating. But, have we forgotten what the season represent? It is a time of reconnecting to our values, remembering and recalling the love we feel for each other. It is a time for community building and family gatherings. It is a time to forget about what others have and our struggle with fear and competition. This is a time to let go of false happiness. Today we will explore Mindful Practices and journey to joy together. Thank you for listening to "Happiness Index" on BlogTalkRadio.com.

Tomorrow is the first anniversary of the Parenting RoundAbout podcast. As we did on our very first episode, we’ll look at the holiday craziness again and give some advice for coming out the other side at least a little bit jolly. Join About.com experts Terri Mauro (Parenting Special Needs), Catherine Holecko (Family Fitness), and Lisa Jo Rudy (Autism) for this annual holiday get-together, and find links to the stories discussed on our Facebook page.
Today I am joined by healer Cheryl Weekes. Cheryl is the author of several books on healing, Taming Neuropathy and Taming your Pain. Both books deal with the real life situation of dealing with chronic pain. Cheryl suffered terribly from Neuropathy and through a Mindful practice was able to take her pain from a 10 to a 1. She will explain how she can to this understanding, how to utilize these skills in your own life. I met Cheryl at Rupert Sheldrake group studing mind over matter - so to speak! She shared with me that after taking a course from healer Eric Pearl, she was able to help people in a more profound way and I can't wait to hear more about this process. Hope you can join in!

There are many ways to manage enterprise I.T. teams. Managers and executives have tried them all, from models based on the military, to "scientific management," to barely organizaed chaos. Now, "mindful management" has become popular because of the qualities it implies in both the team and the team leader. The question for many managers, though, is precisely what we're talking about when we talk about mindful management.
In this enlightening episode, management consultant and noted expert George Colombo will join us to share a primer on the concepts and language of mindful management. George will also be talking about the impact mindful management can have on an organization -- and whether there are any teams that aren't suitable for a mindful approach to management.
George Colombo is an entrepreneur, author, and activist who has worked in and around technology companies for many years. In addition to his other activities, he currently serves as President of the Board of Directors at the Seminole Work Opportunity Program.
Interop 2015 will take place from April 27th through May 1st at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. More information and registration details are available online!
