SHOW NOTES: Our episode today is, “Is The Size of Your Vocabulary Limiting The Size of Your Paycheck?”
Whoa! Do words matter that much? I was teased as a kid in school for "using big words" and "reading too much" (it was not fun being teased and taunted). I have a lifelong love of words and reading. I was not popular when I was growing up, especially when I would rudely "correct" people for using or pronouncing words inaccurately (so don't do this!). I am naturally biased to want to believe that all of the teasing had a silver lining and that there is a benefit to having larger vocabularies. That does not mean it is true, just that I would love for it to be true as it would make me feel better. So, as we discuss in many of our programs, what does the data tell us?
Why is vocabulary important (for my income)?...

College football is evolving. If that wasn’t made clear by the switch to a four-team playoff this season, the growing divide between the haves (the Power 5 football conferences) and the have-nots (the other college football conferences, a.k.a. the Group of 5) is sure to alert you.
OVer at Sporting News, Bill Bender, a college football analyst and Ohio alum, recently did a fascinating five-part series examining the growing divide between these two groups and offered some ideas on how the Group of 5 could go its own way.

On Episode 26, we continue our look ahead at the 2014 MAC Football season with some discussion of the Bowling Green Falcons. Pete Seymour joins Alex and Bryan as they revisit the magical ride that was 2013 and look ahead to what 2014 holds for the Falcons.
Bowling Green, thanks to the emergence of stud quarterback Matt Johnson and his running back partner in crime Travis Greene, rode their way to a MAC Championship in 2013, knocking off the 12th ranked NIU Huskies in Detroit rather handedly. But shortly after capturing the championship, fifth-year head coach Dave Clawson left for Wake Forest. Insert former Eastern Illinois head coach Dino Babers, and his Baylor offense, and suddenly BG looks like the offensive juggernaut of the mid-west. But no coaching change goes off 100 percent perfect, and with Chris Gallon likely out for the year, and some questions on the line, there's potential for some bumps in the road for BGSU this fall.
Laws in this country protect a myriad of categorical issues, but some things go uncovered. One of the legal discriminatory practices that is still alive and well with no recourse, is hatred towards Fat females. While fat males are discriminated against as well, it is not at the rate of women of size. Let's delve into the subject and bring forth some points on why this is.
