Maintaining seal integrity is a high priority in medical device packaging, therefore testing standards need to be relevant and applicable. Join us as Hal Miller discusses dye penetration testing and how the two new dye application methods added to the ASTM F1929-12 Standard Test Method for Detecting Leaks in Porous Medical Packaging by Dye Penetration will benefit medical device packaging.
Join the Medical Packaging Innovation community at 1:00 p.m. UTC for "Medical Device Packaging: Standard Changes in Dye Penetration Testing," where Hal will discuss:
Why the two new dye test methods were added. What other revisions were made to the standard besides the additional methods. If this test method is for paper, Tyvek pouches, and trays with one clear side, what should be used for film and foil packages?

This is going to be a very eye opening event for anyone that chooses to listen. I've dealt with Travelers Insurance for years now and still cannot believe how little they actually care about breathing, fellow Americans. My guest host tonight has been doing medical billing of some sort of capacity for a dozen years. I will ask her about how we can get our records, proper billing. The records of you medical history are yours, get them, read them, understand the terms used in them.Do you really know what type of coverage you even have? My guest host told me tonight "I don't think of Brain Injury as a category". What do medical billing folks think brain injury is? In the case of workers compensation, why is there such a tough time getting proper coverage? My case is proof, even with coverage it's confusing and mostly worthless. How is the "Affordable" Care Act going to effect getting good and helpful treatment after a TBI? Who's going to pay for proper care after catastrophic injury? Did you know there is "Grant Money" available for medical care? I didn't!! Medicare and Medicaid, the big time "Cadilac" insurance packages, it's all on the table for this show. Did you know that your medical records are yours? I'll tell you the most important things to say to doctors to turn their brain around real fast in relation to releasing medical records to you, FAST!! Who's my guest host? Stay tuned!!

"420 The Benefits Of Medical Marijuana"
Should marijuana be a medical option? In 1972, the US Congress placed marijuana in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act because they considered it to have "no accepted medical use." Since then, 17 of 50 US states and DC have legalized the medical use of marijuana. Proponents of medical marijuana argue that it can be a safe and effective treatment for the symptoms of cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, pain, glaucoma, epilepsy, and other conditions. They cite dozens of peer-reviewed studies, prominent medical organizations, major government reports, and the use of marijuana as medicine throughout world history. Opponents of medical marijuana argue that it is too dangerous to use, lacks FDA-approval, and that various legal drugs make marijuana use unnecessary. They say marijuana is addictive, leads to harder drug use, interferes with fertility, impairs driving ability, and injures the lungs, immune system, and brain. They say that medical marijuana is a front for drug legalization and recreational use. What say ye all? Call in with your questions, suggestions and comments (646)716-6587
