Joe Foster on Recommend Me TV
Join me on March 27th as my guest is Mr. Joe Foster. Joe Foster is the Executive Director of the Santa Cruz County Business Council (SCCBC). Through his position, he serves as a liaison between private-sector SCCBC member institutions and public-sector officials throughout the County, with the charge to support economic vitality for our community. His other public service work is through his involvement with the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce’s Community Affairs Committee and his seat on the Smart Solutions to Homelessness in Santa Cruz County leadership council. In addition to his work with SCCBC, Foster also provides public relations, communications and social media consulting to clients around the San Francisco Bay Area.
Prior to moving to Santa Cruz in 2011, Foster worked in the public and non-profit sectors, most recently serving as programs and marketing officer with the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in Morrilton, Arkansas. He holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a B.S. in Political Science from Texas Christian University.

Santa Cruz Segway on Recommend Me TV
Join me with this week with my guests Chappell and Tami from Santa Cruz Segway. Here is a little more about their extraordinary story.
Segway Santa Cruz is a two-woman team. Mother-Daughter owned and operated. Tami is the tour guide, and employee extraordinaire! Our Segway journey began almost ten years ago when watching a high tech TV show introducing the first ever Segway. We decided in 2007 to open a Segway dealership. As there were no laws in place at that time regarding the Segway the Santa Cruz police said there was no way to regulate their usage so they had to say no to a Segway Dealership in Santa Cruz so we moved to a Costa Rica. When the Segway was legalized by Federal law, we contacted the Santa Cruz Police Department; and within days we received word we were Okayed to open up Santa Cruz Segway. Since opening on Memorial Day 2012... 80 % of our guest have been residents of Santa Cruz County. Check out the demographics attached. What a trip! I think you too will be surprised.
