In Greek mythology, Melpomene is one of the two theatre Muses. Initially it was the Muse of singing and musical harmony, but happened to be the Muse of Tragedy as is currently recognized.
A myth says that Melpomene had all the riches that a woman could have: beauty, money, men. Just, having it all she could not be happy ... that’s what leads to the true drama of life: having everything is not enough to be happy.
Although newly formed, the band Melphomene has musicians with extensive experience in this art. It’s a symphonic metal band founded in 2013 by Mario Del Rio and Esthíbaliz, guitarist and vocalist, respectively, and both composers, shortly joined Omar Silva on bass and Ignacio Fontán Blanch on drums.
Mario and Esthíbaliz will be joining us this Tuesday to tell us about their debut album, Destructive Crescendo. Calling all the way from Mexico, we are having a Cinco de Mayo celebration and Melphomene will be our final guests before our "summer vacation" hiatus. Be sure not to miss it!

Helion Prime was first conceived from a common love of metal and all things science. The band was founded when Jason Ashcraft (of Dire Peril) and Tobias Ashcraft (dog) asked Heather Smith (of Graveshadow) to form a side project with them in 2011. The concept: power metal with themes based on actual sceintific theories, with the occasional sci-fi movie tribute. The name Helion Prime was borrowed from an alien planet featured in the film "Chronicles of Riddick," a movie the three were great fans of. She accepted the exciting proposition without hesitation.
Three years later, Jason and Tobi reminded Heather of their previously discussed awesome idea, and the three recorded their first demo track in June of 2014. With the help of members from Dire Peril and Axiom, Helion Prime debuted their first live performance in August 2014 at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA. The dynamic trio is now set to release their first EP on February 26th, 2015 with a full length album in the works for later on in 2015.

Crimson Storm is more than just a band. It is a family, a message, a light shining into the darkness. It is a living, breathing entity...
In a time, a couple of decades ago when musicians were masters of their weapons. Frontmen had serious force and range. Drummers had huge power and charisma. Guitarists were composing and playing the most impressive, virtuoso, monster guitar riffs and leads the world had ever seen. Bassists shined as stars, and loud as thunder in the stormy sky. Not one had a lazy station. It wasn't considered to be an option. Songs had depth, passion and heart. Those days are alive again!!!
Crimson Storm began with a vision when founder lead singer Paul Ames was just 18 years old. Crimson Storm had to survive with him through 20 years of hell to get where it is today, its not only a miracle Crimson Storm is a decade long series of miracles. The first song was written in 1995 in a very dark place. In 2000, Paul formed the first incarnation of Crimson Storm. With huge bands he grew up admiring: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Stryper. The guys that end up on the bus are not always the same guys that started in the garage.
There is a storm coming. Can you feel it? Can you hear the sound of thunder in the distance? The sound of the rain beginning to fall. The rain is as red as blood!

Neoconservatism is a misunderstood term, often misused and instrumental in furthering a scheme of global governance. Many on the so-called 'right' don't believe that Neocons are not conservative in any shape or form.

Sired by classic rock and modern metal ancestors, Tattermask of Charlotte, NC, commingles melodic relics of Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Boston, and Whitesnake with modern riffage akin to Disturbed, Alter Bridge, Evanescence, and Sevendust to forge a fresh sound in the mire of mainstream active rock. Driven by dual lead guitarists Josh Wright and Travis Dry; powered by tight, expressive rhythms from Adam Blackmon on drums and Harley Quinn on bass; and garnished with vocals from Amanda Caines that go from Pat Benatar to Adele to Evanescence at the drop of a hat, sonic variety is the ultimate goal of Tattermask's catalogue of original tunes.
The band has just released their latest EP, Carpe Noctem, and they'll be on the show to tell us a little about it, as well as their upcoming gig on the Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock Tour, opening for bands such as The Agonist and Flyleaf; so be sure to tune in!

We're stepping through the stones and welcoming to our show the one and only Diana Gabaldon, the New York Times best-selling author of the famed Outlander series, which has transcended genres, has been translated to over 40 languages worldwide, and has won countless awards since the first book of the series was published nearly a quarter of a century ago. Now this beloved series has been adapted to the small screen on the Starz network, where viewers can follow the adventures of 20th century time-traveler Claire Randall and 18th century Scotsman Jamie Fraser, dubbed by fans as the "King of Men".
Diana will be stopping by to talk about the show's first season resuming its second half in April, the upcoming DVD release of Season One's first half, and anything else under the sun relating to her books and to the show. We will be taking fan questions for Diana on our Facebook Event page, so if you have a question for Herself, feel free to post it there and we will try our best to ask it for you! She will only be with us for one hour, so we will do everything we can to cover as many of your questions as possible.
We will also have the chat room open on the day of broadcast, so join us in the first hour of the program to talk Outlander with fellow listeners, and play along with our weekly feature, "Scary Justin's Horror Movie Trivia"! While scary films are not exactly related to Outlander, those of you in the chat room who can beat the horror movie "zom-boy" at his own game will get one question asked to Diana, so brush up on your scary movies and give it your best shot!
To accommodate Diana's busy schedule, we will be airing this episode at a special time: one hour earlier than our usual broadcast time, so don't forget to tune in at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific. See you then!
