ENVISION THIS: True community available to all those who seek it
Our guest, Laird Schaub, publisher of Communities magazine, member of the community at Sandhill Farm, and a group process consultant, introduces himself this way:
“My work in group process is rooted in 40 years of intentional community living--all with a group that makes decisions by consensus. In addition, I have been actively involved with consensus-based network organizations for 35 years. Out of that experience, I've been offering my skills as an outside facilitator and consensus trainer for the past 27 years. It is my view that there is no more intensive way to learn and practice group skills than to live in intentional community, where a person is called upon to grow in the work every day (not just after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or for an afternoon every other Saturday).”
Communities magazine has been the primary resource for information, stories, and ideas about intentional communities in North America—including urban co-ops, cohousing groups, ecovillages, and rural communes.
Communities magazine now also focuses on creating and enhancing community in the workplace, in nonprofit or activist organizations, and in neighborhoods, with enhanced coverage of international communities as well. We explore the joys and challenges of cooperation in its many dimensions.
Communities is a publication of The Fellowship for Intentional Community (FIC) which nurtures connections and cooperation among communitarians and their friends. FIC provides publications, referrals, support services, and sharing opportunities for a wide range of intentional communities, cohousing groups, ecovillages, community networks, support organizations, and people seeking a home in community.
Turnbuckle Turmoil is happy to bring to you, a birthday tribute to the late, great Matt Bourne. We will have some of the people that knew him best with us to share stories and memories of Matt as we honor him on his birthday. You'll want to sit back and enjoy the stories about Matt from those that knew him well. Pull up a chair and help us remember this legend.
The passage of time is a common theme in the lyrics of several of Matt VanFossen’s songs. He touched upon it on his debut release several years ago, but really drives the point home on the newly released I Didn’t Come Here to Lose album.
Matt currently has a regional hit with the album’s first single, “A Woman’s Words.” The single has been added to country station Froggy 103.5 in Pittsburgh and regularly hits the Top Request list. It was also listed as one of the Top 25 fan voted songs on Nashville based Internet radio station NIXA.
His newest release, "Boom" is gaining momentum & already getting much airplay.
With the passing of legendary Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll, Captain Lou and Matt will discuss our top ten coaches of our lifetimes at least and maybe dabble in history. Also, its been a busy couple of weeks in the WWE, and we will talk all the results from Payback, aswell as the latest in the Daniel Bryan situation, the Money in the Bank title match, and what happens next with the latest roster cuts. Back to basics. I find our TBI-selves "too smart" at times, to directional, to advanced, to authoritive on what we "assume" we know. Uh, in 2008, for several months - I did not even know my name (other than Matt). So, I can only assume, I really didn't, or don't, know much. With as much time I've been spending learning to live again? How could I?
But I have learned an avenue of TBI Recovery, and study TBI Awareness. OK, promote TBI Awareness. Why? From any angle of a brain injury, if you don't at least understand why this world needs awareness, then you must be greatly lost. Help us save the world tonight. Explain just WHAT your TBI is Aware of...
I hope to bring God into the picture tonight as well. Afterall, its Sunday, plus I met a new friend this week. Plus, baseball and racinig IS God's way. TBI Survival? YOU tell me...
Now then, is it August yet? Has anyone seen my vacation? **whistle** "here boy"
(424) 243-9540 and press #1 upon recorded answer. I have a habit of making everyone 'share'; 'hand up' or not...
Learning through Appreciating Failure
Host Elise Marquam Jahns will speak with Matt Hunt, CEO and Founder of Strategy and Innovation consulting firm Stanford & Griggs.
Every discipline from scientists, entrepreneurs, and even artists use trial and error to move their work forward. But as we grow up, we begin to perceive that we have more to lose from “failure” than we have to gain. The result is that innovation stagnates and we don’t learn from our failures because we are too intent on covering them up. Individuals and organizations that recognize this head on are able to outlearn and outgrow their competition.

The Florentine Promise speaks to any of us who ask questions and seek answers to the uncertainties and mysteries of being alive. Since so many spiritual seekers in every time and culture have come before us and left clues to the mysteries, we can say with certainty that the answers are known to exist in your deeper nature. All that is waiting for you to do is to consciously choose to become a seeker of these answers. Let this book honor and awaken your deeper nature and lead you on a journey of new personal understanding and liberation. "Bonney and Richard Schaub fell in love with Florence when they came to visit the city where Dante wrote his Divine Comedy and where Roberto Assagioli developed psychosynththesis. What they offer here are the fruits of their 35 years of experience - a true journey of the Soul and a precious opportunity for practicing creative meditation as in the best traditions of psychosynthesis."
Richard Schaub and Bonney Gulino Schaub are directors of the Huntington Meditation and Imagery Center and the New York Psychosynthesis Institute. They are also on the faculty of the Italian Society for Psychosynthesis Therapy, Florence, Italy.
