CHI FOR YOURSELF guest: Marney Makridakis

    in Self Help

    http://www.chiforyourself.com

Marney Makridakis is our guest on this CHI FOR YOURSELF. Marney visited us a couple of years ago to talk about her book Creating Time. Then she turned conventional wisdom about the nature of time on its head.

Now she’s back and sort of poking the paradigm with a lighthearted look at manifesting, and a new book called Hop, Skip, Jump: 75 Ways to Manifest a Meaningful Life.

Playfully manifest a meaningful Life: Marney Makridakis

    in Self Help

Hello my beloveds.  My guest today is Marney Makridakis.  She shares with us her new book called "Hop Skip Jump:playfully manifest a meaningful Life."

Most of us view work and play as mutually exclusive opposites, but now you can blend them together in your new route to joy-filled success.

The 75 techniques in this book will guide you to be more playful and productive as you move through three vital phases of the manifestation process: dreaming (Hop), experimenting (Skip), and taking action (Jump). Discover your Play Personality and learn how to use it to create more experiences in which work feels like play, and struggle gives way to momentum, ease, and joy.

Hop Skip Jump Your Way To Playful Manifestation w Marney Makridakis

    in Spirituality

I am reading the book Hop, Skip, Jump by Marnie K. Makridakis. It is a playful look at all of the beliefs we may have about life which are entirely too serious.

We may think we have to reinvent ourselves in order to be perfect. Perfection is probably not the best goal to have. Imperfection is more realistic, and is a happier state of mind which naturally leads to play.

Play is what this book is all about. We were playful as children and as adults we may have lost the touch of playfulness. Adapting playful attitudes into our lives can change everything. When I adapt a playful attitude towards myself, for instance, I am able to get more done. Time seems to expand. The world looks more hopeful, even in the dead of winter.

My name is Kate Loving Shenk RN BSN. I have been a nurse for three decades. I love having meaningful conversations with people about their Love of Life and what it means in relation to prayer and eradicating the fear of death. It makes me crazy how American society sweeps death away and no one speaks about it. This is why I’ve created the “Uprooting Our Fear Of Death: Bringing IT Out Of The Closet,”  "The Nursing Career Transformation Roundtable" to give nurses a voice, both Google Hanginars; “The Prayer Prescription Series” of which there are nine books on Amazon, (so far); and a daily podcast called "Kate Loving's P.R.A.Y.E.R. Podcast: Prayer Prescriptions that ReWire Assumptions About Your Everyday Reality."

    MARNEY MAKRIDAKIS: Creating Time

    in Self Help

In today's technology driven, faced paced, multitasking world, it can feel like time is moving so rapidly that it's impossible to keep up with basic responsibilities, let alone have extra time to focus on our dreams, hobbies, and the things that touch our hearts most deeply.

On Tuesday, May 22nd at noon Eastern time, we're delighted to welcome Marney Makridakis to the Art of Joyful Living. Marney has good news for those of us who feel there aren't enough hours in the day to get it all done. In her new book, Creating Time: Using Creativity to Reinvent the Clock and Reclaim Your Life, she turns the concept of time management upside-down by presenting exciting new tools for experiencing time in fresh and exciting ways.

Marney combines creativity with science to inspire us to reshape old thoughts and patterns that have been holding us back from being all we can be. She'll show us how to use art and imagination as powerful catalysts for lasting change.

According to Marney, we can create time outside a linear view and welcome a new way to experience it. She says, "Now you too can control your perceptoin of time and experience it in a way that truly supports you and the highest vision of your life. Believe it or not, time is in your hands, and you can mold, craft, and create time to be just about anything you would like it to be."
